Small restaurant; limited seating but warm ambiance. We were seated at the Bar which could have been more cleaner and organized, nevertheless, the food was delectable and had great options. They could work on their drinks menu and drinks a little, but hands-down the dishes make up for all these limitations, and can't help but give them the 4 stars.

Yes, you read that right! They actually make cheese out of plants! More on that in a minute.

Last night we (@intentionalAdventure on IG) had the pleasure of dining with some friends (Rachel and Mark with @wanderfulway on IG) We were lucky that our paths crossed again in North Carolina and we met up for a dinner without kids!
We have a lot in common and were thrilled to find out that they too love eating plants! 🎉🌱

Rachel recommended the aptly-named restaurant “Plant” in Asheville, which is known as one of the top vegan restaurants in the country. After eating there last night, I would say they are pretty darn close! 😃

Our delicious choices included:
🌱crispy potatoes with Italian salsa verde
-this was similar to potato skins with a tangy sauce

🌱wild mushrooms with potato and herb crust, cream cheese, yellow grits Calabrian chili, dried olive and greens; - a delicious southern grits dish with crunchy mushrooms!

🌱seitan patties on top of a stuffed tamale with grilled romaine and cilantro mojo with “queso” drizzled on top.
-This was a delicious southwest style “meat” dish and the seitan (wheat gluten) has a pork chop type texture.
.
🌱plant cheese spread including: aged cashew cheese, farmers pecan and date cheese and macadamia
ricotta. Accompanied by roasted garlic, peaches, pickled vegetables black garlic oil and house bread. 😮😍

🌱For dessert we had a delicious vegan creme brûlée!

Y’all! OMG!! Since we were serious cheese lovers before we went vegan, finding amazing plant based cheeses that taste like heaven is so special for us! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Who knew you could make delicious cheese out of cashews and macadamia nuts?! 🤯

Needless to say, we highly recommend this restaurant! 😊

very grateful for the experience I had!! It was everything I hoped for. The crew here works together seamlessly. The open kitchen concept was very interesting to observe. It’s always a treat to see talented and dedicated people brilliantly executing their craft. I loved everything my friend and I tried. Thanks Plant for creating such a special and delicious space. I didn’t have a reservation and no one made me feel like I wasn’t welcomed. I was a little nervous about that and I appreciated how hard the sweet host worked to accommodate my party. They were very hands on and on point in every aspect. For what it’s worth just wanted to add as a former host in biltmore village, you straight up slayed. Hosting is not easy nor is the service industry period. Meghan (i’m sorry if the spelling is incorrect) took care of us and was a total gem. So knowledgeable, patient and helped my indecisive self through choosing dishes which was very thoughtful. I’m very appreciative that we are lucky enough to have places like Plant to visit, where it’s undeniably clear there’s a lot of love that goes into this operation 🫶

Food was delicious, especially the ravioli! I wish I could have the recipe for the "cheese" sauce. My boyfriend, who isn't a vegan, loved the meal as well.

This place is absolutely AMAZING. My mum and I came to Asheville for a birthday and found this place based off reviews. We asked some locals and they said it’s a must-visit when here. My mum is a meat eater while I’m a vegetarian and she asked me if we could come back here before we leave (haha!) - from the staff to the service to the food to the atmosphere - you. will. not. be. disappointed. Highly highly HIGHLY recommend if you’re in the Asheville area.

Been vegan for about ~3 years, and of the many vegan restaurants I've been to, plant is probably my favorite (possibly tied with liora in baltimore). Simple and not-so-simple dishes done very well as well as some of the best vegan desserts I've had. I don't live anywhere close, but I always make sure to stop by when I'm in the area.

This restaurant had really phenomenal food. I had the seitan which was delicious and my companions had the ramen and masala which they really enjoyed. Unfortunately the service was really REALLY slow. Our entire meal took almost 3 hours for one course and drinks. Our waiter would regularly look at our table and turn around without checking in with us. There was a lot of confusion about who was serving us and we constantly had to ask for water or for any service. It would be hard for me to go back unless i could dedicate a whole night to sit around and wait.

Had dinner at Plant the other night where we had a delicious meal and were delighted by everything we tried - especially the ravioli! We sat at the bar which ended up being a wonderful gift since we got to watch Derek prepare some of the fresh local produce. He kindly and patiently answered all of our questions about ingredients and flavor and much more. He really invited us into the experience and made the meal meaningful!

Such a beautiful restaurant with amazing food. My server was awesome and made fantastic recommendations. Every tasted so delicious and the entire menu sounded and looked delicious. Really was a wonderful time and they went above and beyond to follow social distancing and cleanliness standards. A must visit!

What a lovely restaurant! Everything we had was spectacular, and service was wonderful. The vegan cheese plate was amazing (would have never known they were plant cheeses).
