One of the biggest wins of living where we do is that we are about 5 minutes from Iron Roost. We love the atmosphere and the food is great! My boyfriend and I are vegans and we love that we can bring friends here and there’s something for everyone. Would love to see more vegan options on the menu, like French toast, sausage, bacon, etc.

Went here on a whim. The menu looked great and they seemed very accommodating to allergies. That was exactly the case. The vegan waffle was outstanding. My boyfriend had the earlier riser which was so fresh. The staff was very friendly. Totally worth the wait. Can't wait to go back!

Best waffles in area! The staff is helpful and friendly and the restaurant is clean and inviting but small if you have a large group. It is always packed on weekends although the service is fast. Creative specials, great selection of beverages and they have vegetarian, vegan and gluten free selections. They offer both sweet and savory selections as well as a kiss menu. The lemon berry and grilled cheese are two of our favorites.

Killer Bee latte was a great choice. The gingerbread scone was fantastic and the bits of candied ginger made it even better. The savory waffle sandwiches are my go to!

Walked in to a really cute place in Ballston Spa. My wife and I sat in the bay window overlooking the Farmers Market on a Saturday morning. My wife and I both ordered the same meal, the roost brunch. It was delicious! Eggs over easy were perfect, came with bacon, sausage, and ham, and came with 2 of the best tasting waffles I've ever had. I was reluctant to coming to a new place with my wife, however, The Iron Roost is now a favorite! The staff were all super nice, without being fake about it. If you haven't been here, come here, you'll love the people, the atmosphere and especially the food!

We've been to the Iron Roost a couple of times now. Both times were great. Seating was available and service was pretty quick.

The waffles are great, and so are the home fries are some of the best I've had at a restaurant. We'll be going back again soon enough!

Great food (and coffee) and quick service. Very unique dining experience. Definitely use the yelp app to reserve a table ahead of time. Every time I have done this I have been seated immediately upon arrival with no wait. Especially important when bringing a hungry and cranky toddler.

You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Savory and sweet waffles alike are great for breakfast ANS lunch! They also have a great selection of baked goods and pre-made foods.

It was ok. It's a very strange setup. My husband and I arrived and were greeted timely to give our phone # to the hostess. We were told a 30 min wait for a Saturday morning table, which was fine. The waiting area in the restaurant was an area with seating for about 5 people, so we chose to walk around the town. We got a text 30 mins later that our table was ready, but what that really means is that you get to wait in line to order food counter style, find any table you wish and wait for your food to come out. We both ordered vegan waffles and were excited to try them. Each order came with two waffles, one waffle more raw than the other. The waitress offered to take them and have them remade, but at that point my husband and I had already struggled to eat one each and felt it was pointless to have them make more waffles. It was a comfortable atmosphere, but with an incredibly strange ordering process. Even though we loved that there are vegan options, the dense, raw waffles need improvement.

Updated: Tried a second time, determined to give the Iron Roost a fair shot. Unfortunately, I left disappointed again. I ordered the Southern Fiesta (trying to stick with a healthier option) and I've come to the conclusion that they just don't do savory well. The dish was just very bland, hardly seasoned at all. I've found decent elements in the dishes I've tried, but not enough to make me want to come back. Perhaps we just have different tastes, being from the Midwest originally.

After being talked up by all our friends, we finally made it to the Iron Roost, expecting everything to be delicious. We had mixed results. The bananas foster was great, would definitely get again. My egg sandwich was another story. The waffles tasted as if they had been made two days before and were so bland I ended up only eating the egg and sausage from my sandwich. For a place that centers around waffles so heavily, I couldn't believe how bad these waffles were for my meal. If that had been all we'd ordered today, we probably would not want to come back.
