Had a good enjoyable lunch at Iron Roost today with my sister, until I checked the bill. Beware!! The menu prices are not always what they charge.
We ordered BLT’s with wheat bread. The bill showed the price of two BLT’s at $15 which was what the menu said. However they added $4 because we asked for wheat bread!!!
The menu did not say anything about a fee if you wanted bread rather than their waffle thing.
Tea was $3 and soda about $2.75. Plus a charge for using a credit card without any sign about a credit card fee.
Since I had to pay for our food before I saw and ate it, I reluctantly left a tip
Of 20%. I told the cashier I was not use to giving a tip before I saw the service and she said service would be good.
I am sorry I wasted my 20% after getting my food and bill.
Our BLT had one or two strips of bacon, it was hard to see and count but not like the BLT’s I am use to with 5 or so pieces of bacon in the restaurants I usually eat go to in Glens Falls.
We both felt the $27 was way over priced for what we got. Admittedly, I do not eat out much; only 3 to 4 times per week, but I felt Iron Roost’s prices are too high for their self order-from-the-counter set up or quality of food.
I am amazed the people who live in Ballston continue to frequent this restaurant.
My sister and I grew up in Ballston and enjoy returning to BS frequently but will not go to the Roost again👎.
From Two dissatisfied customers who will not return.

Grug come with friends, grug like place. Food good and waffle very good. Grug also think staff very nice. Grug only think wait too long, think maybe need bigger space for more people. Grug think maybe grug and friends make this place regular like in famous show friends, like funny sitcom.

Loved it here! Go with friends so you can try multiple things...the Apple Crisp was the crowd favorite - egg sandwiches were good - Southwest fiesta and the Front Street Philly were both great!

Love their waffles, and their servers are all very friendly. Nice quiet brunch/lunch place for a date. Strongly recommend their eggs Benedict, YuM

Great as a coffee shop or for a good breakfast or quick bite lunch. Waffles are solid. Worth the visit alone.
The fake whipped topping leaves a bit to be desired. Fresh whipped cream would be better. But the "Balston Creme" waffle is good. So are the breakfast sandwiches.
Not sure about the crepe like waffles. But the sandwich was still fantastic. Best home fries around!
Coffee is fine, but only dark roast. My wife loves Jamaican Me Crazy and it's tasty here if you like flavored coffees.
Pricing is good for the portions And quality. And you can't put a price on great service.

Funky vibe. Order at counter, pay and almost immediately your meal is served. Super fast and super easy!! Friendly service and lots of intriguing options on the menu including several specials. You can go sweet or savory and lots of hot and cold drink choices. Highly recommended and very reasonable.

This is hands down one of the best breakfast locations in a 100 mile radius, excellent customer service with food that appeals to the eyes just as much as it does to your taste buds. I'm a huge fan of breakfast but sometimes I get worn down by the traditional options and just need a bit of excellence to start my day. If you know what I mean then get to the Iron Roost, you won't be disappointed! There is usually a bit of a wait so I advise that you download the Yelp App and make a reservation. Leave a comment if you disagree with anything I just said!

The Iron Roost has a very comfortable vibe that's conducive to conversation. Definitely a warm, inviting restaurant with a courteous and most helpful staff. A Front Street Philly; waffle wedge packed with scrambled eggs, shaved house roast beef, sautéed onions and peppers accompanied with a flavorful steak sauce, was thoroughly enjoyed. It's a delicious meal unto itself. I will gladly return, for breakfast and their gourmet waffles.

Super trendy the food looks good I haven’t eaten there yet but the cold press coffee is super strong. Everyone is pretty nice but the service was a bit slow. Definitely is a place where I wanna eat in the future Bathrooms are super chill tampons are chillin for all to use and there’s a rad baby changing station
