I loved this place ! The food was fresh and delicious! The environment was very joyful clean and peaceful. I got the very berry vegan waffles from the vegan menu! So many good options. They had a vegan, gluten free and regular menus. My friend and son got the waffle sticks with Nutella dipping sauce and sausage. She said the sausage was real and delicious!
The staff was so precious helpful and accommodating (we showed up like 10 minutes before closing without even realizing. Its my new favorite spot!

I was quite disappointed the first time I tried Iron Roost. I thought it was bland and was quite confused by the rave reviews. I recently decided to give it another shot and had a much better experience! The bananas foster was quite delicious. There's something about Upstate NY that just "gets" bananas foster and Iron Roost is no exception. Plenty of toppings and great whipped cream made for a breakfast I could at least pretend was a healthier choice than some of my other local options. The potatoes were not great. The best thing about them is that they came with ketchup that had a bit of a zing to it. I would definitely skip these.
I will say though that Iron Roost seems to have an issue with consistency. From the disparity of my two visits and flipping through the pics on here, it seems like it's a 50/50 chance you either get a legit meal or just a waffle with some stuff carelessly tossed on top. I don't know if that kind of risk would warrant repeat patronage.

This my first time at Iron Roost and trying Vegan waffles. They were delicious....try the Very Berry! The service is great from door to table.

Always delicious & creative dishes. Vegan and vegetarian friendly. Super busy weekends so expect a wait. Staff is always friendly and helpful. There's seating both inside and outside during the warmer seasons.

Lovely spot with awesome food and kind staff. Dangerous to live on the same block!
**Update** still love the food which keeps me coming back, but dislike being denied service two days in a row for carryout. A single person ordering for one to go is much less than the line there is in store.
Told they're too busy but I've ordered carryout for two on busier days and had the great meal in 5 minutes.
Still recommend if you're going to dine in. But no carryout as there's no warning. Embarrassing to be denied service as a paying regular while other customers look at you like you're the scourge of the earth when you're told they don't do carryout. **
Still reccomend the French toast! I'll have to just make it myself with my own brioche recipe...

Incredible atmosphere, with the No Wait app you're able to sit shortly after arrival and ordering, amazing food made from local fresh ingredients. Not a bad word to say. If you're in town check out this gem.

I love me a good breakfast and Iron Roost satisfied my taste buds that day. I made my own waffle with strawberries, hone fries and chicken sausage. The waffle was really fresh and sweet. The homefries were pretty good too. I just needed to add some salt and pepper for my liking. The chicken sausage was unexpected. For some reason, I thought it would be similar to other restaurants. I appreciate the freshness and farm to table sausage and I hate wasting food, but I was not too fond of the chicken sausage. Therefore, I swapped it out for the bacon , which was sooo good(even though I'm trying to stay away from pork.) The atmosphere of the Iron Roost was homey--one waitress gave me a weird vibe, but that could be due to other underlying issues. Other than that everything was great🙂

Such an amazing place. The food is so delicious, the staff are so friendly, and the atmosphere is perfect for breakfast. The coffee speciality drinks are a must try. So happy we found the Iron Roost doing a google search for Breakfast in Ballston Spa.

I had heard from friends how great the Iron Roost was and tried it for the first time myself today. It's nestled among the quaint shops and leafy streets of Ballston Spa's village. The bananas foster waffles were amazing, and the house blend coffee in a mug came with a free refill. It was the perfect, cozy place to spend a brisk fall day. Definitely planning to go back again soon to try one of their omelets!

Good food and good service. The waffles come in full or half servings. I had the apple crisp and it was tasty.
