Food was delicious! I had the smothered burrito, and not one complaint. The chips and salsa were fresh and quite good. Only complaint is their low on staff. There was one waiter for the resturant, but he was working it out! Kitchen turned out the food quick, but the waiter was the true star.

Just a shade short of 5. Interior maintenance is very adequate, but they admit by ignoring the mifinor details in the rooms. 4 panel doors have amateurish repainting of and repair for grout, door panels have 1/8 inch lines surrounding the panels. I never felt uncomfortable, but the execution of the presentation of the rooms, and at least a explanation of the skimmed style of sheetrock, wall finish, is something that needs to be explained to guests. What happened to the bar? No explanation was offered. Their has been an incredible effort to make these rooms feel authentic, but that needs to address the details, such as wood floor trim that actually covers all the obvious gaps in the floor. Do it right the first time, and it doesn't need to be done again to get it right. The rooms need to be made much more friendly as guests arrive. The TV service is difficult to use, and takes a while to get used too. So surprising how humid it is here if it is rainy at all. I am exceptionally sensitive to humidity where I sleep.

Positive: Location on the plaza was nice. The room was old fashioned and small but fun. Negative: No restaurant on site, no air conditioning.

This is a Fabulous place ! My husband & I were there while Plaza was lit for Christmas 🎄! So ,beautiful every night ! We had one of the 2 Rooms with balconies, overlooking it all! It was our 1st anniversary , they were so very gracious , to send a beautiful card & a bottle of wine 🍷 for us to enjoy , Can’t wait to see this beautiful Plaza & the la Fonda again soon, this historic area is very in bracing ! Hope you and yours can come see ! It’s a must !!!! Delia & Doug ! Blessings 🌞

Came back to the hotel around 12:15am. Could not get in. Front door locked ( not key card accessible) Called the hotel twice because the first call was routed to voicemail. Was told that the hotel is locked at 11. That we have to call to get in. Thank God my charger was In my car because my phone was dead. Was never informed of this upon checking in.

Called this hotel 4 days in advance and made reservations while working nights on the Calf Canyon fire and stated specifically that we needed our rooms at 9am multiple times, arrived at the motel and they didn’t have rooms.

Perfect location right on the plaza. My room was 204, only queen with a fireplace and a view of mountains. Historic hotel, but very clean. Only drawback is no breakfast included. So comfortable though!

Slightly overpriced. Very clean room. Good, friendly front desk. But, shame on LaFonda Hotel for clipping paid customers for parking. Kinda chintzy. Internet so-so.

My husband and I just stayed here while celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary. The hotel was beautiful, the accommodations very comfortable, the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, and the staff were friendly. Thank you, we really enjoyed our stay!
