Very nice historical hotel at historical area. Clean room with wood floor. Very hard to find somewhere else.

Something not good is no free breakfast.
Something worse is even no tea bags provided.

    But overall, it is good.

Very old historic hotel. Friendly staff. Remodeled. Clean. Right on the square

I tried to cancel 24 hrs. + in advance of a reservation due to illness and change of plans. The front desk lady was very rude and told me I had to go through Expedia. I then contacted Expedia, and Expedia told me it was up to the hotel. I then called the front desk lady back, and the lady admitted that she had lied, and that it was up to the hotel to decide whether to waive a cancellation fee. I told her that charging me and then renting the room to someone else would result in a double recovery for the hotel. She then hung up on me. Rude. Unprofessional. Should not be dealing with customers. I will never stay here again.

200 years old and holding up pretty well. Great location right on Taos Plaza and just a few steps from restaurants, coffee, art galleries, and every New Mexican tchotchke you can think of to take home to your friends and family! While historic and beautifully renovated, I found some of the decor (specifically the furniture) to be a little dated and inconsistent with the pueblo design elements elsewhere. The room was pretty small but adequate enough for me, for one night. However, I was placed next door to a couple that were clearly intoxicated and argued uncomfortably for hours. This normally wouldn’t have been a big deal, but my room shared a very thin door with them so I had no other option but to do my best to ignore their bickering. I fell asleep with earbuds. The bathroom was well appointed and I loved the shower head. Front desk was kind, friendly, and efficient, as was the coffee shop upfront. I wish I could give 4.5 stars as my overall stay was pretty good, but my neighbors that night and the thinness of the walls and doors kinda bothered my stay. I wish I could recall which room I was in (maybe #10) - it was near the elevator. Oh, one more thing, be sure to check out the DH Lawrence room with those shocking early 20th century nude paintings! Funny how different things are now!

When they say an old place, they mean it! The place was clean, but the pillows were horrible!! Great staff!

The room was neat, clean, large and welcoming with little amenities you wouldn't normally think of. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room had a lovely view of the plaza. The only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is because it appears to have been built in stages with each floor multi-levels. Even though there is an elevator from the parking lot, you may still have to negotiate stairs with your luggage when coming and going.

I stayed in the 'Pent House' suite 9/16-9/17 at a total cost of $1,362.12. The shower did not work, the room was dirty, there were big exit lights directly outside the bedroom door that were so bright that the door had to be closed or the light would blast you in the face. The ceiling fan in the bedroom was noisy and broken. It was an unpleasant 2 night stay. They need to fix everything broken at that place. They didn't have someone to help with our bags and it was literally a maze to find our room. The bathroom was not safe, the outside balcony floor tiles were a hazard and it smelled of mold. Lots of broken things that needed to be fixed. You could also take the time to add some stuffing to the living furniture because that too was blown. Im so glad we were able to spend the rest of the week at La Doña Luz (a block away) where everyone was friendly and the place was very clean and accommodating.

Really great location, located in Taos Plaza which I did not realize before booking. It was really great because we just walked everywhere. It’s really beautiful around the hotel. Was decently surprised by how well kept the hotel was due to its age. I wish the furniture was more true to the culture and style here though. Also, I would note that the front desk lady locked the door that leads to the parking lot around 8:30 pm which seemed kind of odd to me nonetheless dangerous I would think.

This hotel is quintessential Taos, right on the plaza, can walk to everything you need. Great staff, flexible and accommodating. Hotel is old but clean and well kept, just what you want in Taos IMO. Rooms have all the conveniences you would expect in a modern hotel, but with a Taos vibe, exactly why you should stay here. Great coffee shop in lobby. No bar in hotel but several nearby. This was a ski trip and skiing was awesome.

Shabby room. Nowhere to sit. Front desk was no help. Cut my stay to 1 night so I could find a better hotel. Complete disappointment
