Hotel La Fonda de Taos

The hotel was full of charm from the external appearance to the entry/lobby and the quaint, clean, comfortable room. There were issues with the completely non-functional TV and remote, the lack of hot water (barely warm for a shower), but would stay there again as I am confident they will correct these problems with that room after my complaint upon checking out. The personnel were very friendly good people.

This place is comfortable and beautiful. Great artwork in an the foyer and throughout the building. This building is a piece of history and right in the middle of all the great Taos square offerings. You can walk anywhere from here.

Clean, sanitary, friendly and courteous staff. Very attentive and informative. The hotel room was clean and spacious. This beautiful historic building is in fabulous shape and kept in wonderful order for guests. You will want for nothing. They include guest bathrobes, top of the line bath essentials, comfortable beds, perfect location, and beyond reproach cleanliness standards all in historic Taos style and grandeur. What's not to love! Heather couldn't have been nicer when we had to book a room at the last minute. Thank you for turning a fiasco into a fabulous finale' at the end of our exhausting day.

Convenient location on the plaza. Restaurant was being renovated so hard to go out for breakfast. Rooms show their age and AC is loud and hotel-wide, not controlled in the room which makes sleep difficult.

Friendly staff, great art, great location, breakfast cafe and coffee shop on site, rooms a bit pricy for very simple space.

Location and history is really what sells this property. Shelley was awesome checking me in, and my room was clean. I had a hard time understanding the AC/heating, but thankfully I didn't need it too much in my room. I feel like the furniture could use some updating however, pieces weren't exactly matching each other and while I understand that this hotel is meant to evoke Taos' history, the furniture felt less like southwestern old charm and more like grandma's house.

It was strange the hotel does not allow children because of it being a historic place. That's what I was told when I asked why? It was definitely a beautiful place none the less and I would truly recommend the place for adults wanting a get away.

What a treasure! This old hotel on the Plaza in the center of Taos is filled with history. It is a beautiful building smack in the middle of so many art galleries, stores, restaurants, etc. The staff was very friendly, from the front desk to the cleaning crew. The rooms are quite small, which is to be expected in a building this age, but they have plenty of comfortable common areas. Our room was equipped with a large flat screen tv, plenty of towels, Bath & Body works lotion, soap, shampoo, etc., and a coffee maker. We requested a fridge and got it (maybe they are in all rooms, I don't know). We're so glad we found this place and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to stay within walking distance of so many fun shops.

We love this hotel right next to the plaza in Taos. I would not stay in any other place. This is a 200 year old hotel and the rooms are nothing modern, but they are nice clean rooms and the atmosphere is very cozy and it gives you that small town vibe. We can to Taos to ski and Taos Ski Valley is only a 30 minute drive.

Nice place, located in the downtown square near most amenities and dining areas. It's perfect for the lone traveler looking to lay their head overnight, but there's no breakfast and no amenities inside the room. I'm sure the larger suites have better accommodations.
