We stayed in a recently remodel room with a King Size bed and a twin hideaway. The room was spectacular. It is decorated in the greatest rustic chic style with lots of wood and metal accents. The memory foam mattress provided a wonderful nights rest. The location and scenery can't be beat.

Very nice little vintage motel up in the "mountains" if you will. Would have been 5 stars except for the fact that although it's at a higher elevation which would usually be much cooler. It was very hot the night that i was there and they do not have air conditioning. So it was a pretty sleepless night. Normally I don't think that would be a problem but it was unusually warm. The motel is unique and clean and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Also the restaurant is "very" good.

Dear Dusty and Vicki,
You are two very hard working business owners. The hospitality industry is a difficult task to take on.
It is such a shame that your motel (and cafe) fall so very short of satisfying the clientele.
Perhaps by bringing your childhood memorabilia and fastening it to the walls and furniture of a room gave you emotional feelings that clouded your judgement as to how to arrange a motel room. There are no towel racks or soap dishes in the bathroom. There is no place to put your toiletries. No ledges or rack for shampoo or razor.
You have put in a low flow shower head, bravo! Now, in order to have hot water for a shower you have to let the precious water run for 5 minutes before it even warms up.
The beds are quite comfortable. However there is no table top space because every nook is filled with memorabilia. One wall is even lit all night, quite brightly, so that we had to cover it with a blanket just to sleep.
The coffee pot was filled with liquid coffee that had not been emptied from a previous guest.
Wall sockets are filled already so trying to unplug wires and use the outlets for our phones and computers is risky at best. And wifi here is fickle.
The small freezer unit in the fridge is over iced and needs to be defrosted. The bed spread had dog hairs on it from a previous resident. The floor contained sharp pieces of wood fragments. The pillows to sleep on were beneath decorative pillows that had covers that had not been washed. So, now you are getting an idea of what is required to have returning guests and run a successful business. Though the cars and trucks with texas license plates that fill your parking lot made us realize that some people have zero expectations of what could be provided.
We will not be returning nor do we recommend this motel. Best of luck. Perhaps the shrieking dog on your front porch at night will give folks an idea of just how to stay away.

I've loved many of their dishes, but the chili's the best. 5 stars. Banana bread is stellar, too. The ambience is cute; the chairs are miserably uncomfortable, but the food is worth the discomfort. Great, great food.

We stayed in a delightful room decorated tastefully with a photography theme including cameras! Loved the corrugated tin used in the bathroom and as a headboard.
The restaurant served a tasty meatloaf, huge burgers and breakfast was good too, served just the way you wanted it.

The hotel was directly off of the main road and easy to find. The rooms were well-furnished and the beds are very nice. The showers could stand for an upgrade as the shower heads are very low flow and seem to be clogged. The staff was incredibly nice though and I would highly recommend staying here and I would stay here again.

Very clean- Cute western decorations, comfortable beds, and a great kitchen with amenities! We were without electricity for 2 days and enjoyed our stay. Dusty, his wife and the staff provided meals for us and provided board games for entertainment. They went above and beyond on customer service. Strongly recommend and will be back for another vacation. Donna Wallace - Athens, TX

Cafe has great comfort food and the hotel has updated it's rooms. Absolutely feel at home here. Second time we have stayed here and honestly, will only stay here if in the area.

My family and I LOVED this hotel! We had an emergency and had to stay overnight in Cloudcroft. I called every hotel around midnight to try and find a place to stay. This was the ONLY establishment that even answered the phone! The rooms are cleaned very thoroughly. The decor is lovely as well. The staff go above and beyond to make you comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone! Not only this, but you can tell that the staff genuinely care about you!

We didn’t stay at the hotel but we ate at the cafe. First--the food was pretty good, no complaints there BUT the service was horrible. It was as if they were intentionally ignoring our table. There was very little interaction between the servers and our table. We ordered water and my six year old wasn't sure what she wanted so the server just walked away and brought us two waters and never asked if my children wanted anything to drink. We proceeded to sit and wait for half an hour for our food. They never came to take my children's drink orders and never refilled our waters. They basically threw our food at us and walked away. We continued to be ignored while the server remained friendly checking on all the other tables but ours.
Lastly, when another person checked out, she asked him if any of them were military, ex military, teachers, nurses etc. for a discount. I thought that was so neat because I am a teacher and had my ID to prove it but when my husband went to pay the check she simply stated the price and asked no questions.
