Review of Sump Coffee
Sump Coffee is a popular coffee shop located at 3700 S Jefferson Ave, St. Louis, Missouri. This coffeehouse offers a unique and alternative vibe, making it a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The interior is adorned with lots of reclaimed-wood accents, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
One of the standout features of Sump Coffee is their commitment to quality. They are known for being one of the best roasters in the Midwest, if not the entire country. Their house espresso blend is highly praised for its perfect balance of acidity, fruitiness, and floral notes. Whether you prefer to enjoy it on its own or with steamed milk, you won't be disappointed.
The skilled baristas at Sump Coffee craft incredible drinks. Every shot pulled here is perfection, and the milk is always impeccably textured. Many customers claim that Sump Coffee serves the best cortado they've ever had. If you're feeling adventurous, their specialty beverages are always interesting and worth a try.
Sump Coffee is not just a place to grab a great cup of coffee, but also a place to relax and enjoy the ambiance. The interior is hip and stylish, with a unique decor that incorporates wood elements. There is plenty of seating available both inside and outside at tables.
One thing to note is that Sump Coffee has limited operating hours. They are open from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday to Sunday. Some customers have mentioned that they wish the shop stayed open later, but the quality of the coffee and the friendly service more than make up for it.
If you're a coffee lover in St. Louis, Sump Coffee is a must-visit. Whether you're looking for a delicious espresso, a perfectly crafted pour-over, or a specialty beverage, you'll find it here. The combination of their alternative vibe, reclaimed-wood accents, and exceptional coffee make Sump Coffee a standout in the local coffee scene.

I ordered the Irish Wake Up, and the espresso was clearly left out for a long time (hence the sour aftertaste after each sip). I couldn’t taste much of the in-house “irish creme,” although the other spices in it added a nice touch.
We also ordered the bourbon caramel latte, and it was standard. It tasted like a regular latte without much flavoring.
Initially had high hopes for Sump Coffee, but was sadly disappointed. However, I would give them a second try in the future if I’m ever back in STL.

5 stars all around. Amazing coffee and baristas. Great music, chill vibes. Not any outlets in the main room but there's a table in the back room that has a table with outlets.

This is probably my favorite coffee shop in St. Louis. Delicious coffee of course, wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff. Also, their Sumpkin Spice Latte is my favorite PSL of any place! Not overly sweet and the perfect amount of pumpkin flavor.

Amazing place. Welcoming and inviting! Smelled so good. Sump is in an up and coming neighborhood a couple blocks from Cherokee street. The coffee smells amazing and you can get a wide variety of drinks. The best part is I thought it would be pricey but it’s highly competitive if not more so than any other coffee shop around! It’s not expensive and it’s high quality product and service. I was blown away and will be returning. And no my name is not Bart simpson but I did go in this store and loved it. Thank you!!

I grew up in St. Louis but now live in Boston, and unfortunately no longer have the pleasure of having Sump in my day to day life but make a point to go every time I visit my hometown.
I would consider myself a very serious coffee drinker. I make it all the fancy ways and the non pretentious ways. My favorite thing to do in a new city is try to find a good roaster and bring a bag of beans back home.
Sump is hands down the best coffee roaster in country.
I don’t know if it’s just the quality of product and their meticulous technique - or the added mystique of Scott with the iconic beard and mad chemist aesthetic - that makes Sump unparalleled... but they are. It’s the best coffee and espresso you’ll have in your life. In St. Louis! Who knew.
Curbside pickup is a breeze, but looking forward to when I can sit inside and enjoy it in person again.
