The interior is adorned with lots of reclaimed-wood accents, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
One of the standout features of Sump Coffee is their commitment to quality. They are known for being one of the best roasters in the Midwest, if not the entire country. Their house espresso blend is highly praised for its perfect balance of acidity, fruitiness, and floral notes. Whether you prefer to enjoy it on its own or with steamed milk, you won't be disappointed.
The skilled baristas at Sump Coffee craft incredible drinks. Every shot pulled here is perfection, and the milk is always impeccably textured. Sump Coffee is not just a place to grab a great cup of coffee, but also a place to relax and enjoy the ambiance. The interior is hip and stylish, with a unique decor that incorporates wood elements. There is plenty of seating available both inside and outside at tables.
One thing to note is that Sump Coffee has limited operating hours. They are open from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday to Sunday. Some customers have mentioned that they wish the shop stayed open later, but the quality of the coffee and the friendly service more than make up for it.

I got a hot vanilla rum latte and it was really good. They let me try the syrup separate from the drink which was nice, it’s a great twist on the classic vanilla flavor. Espresso is nothing to rave about (although good) it’s their milk frothing that’s superior to every coffee shop in St. Louis. Perfectly textured milk. Yes it’s expensive but it’s also speciality coffee. Love it there!

Very neat medium size coffee shop in a neighborhood which I wasn’t expected to find it. Street parking, but has playroom to park. Ordered a cortado there - it was delicious! Definitely coming back to test something else 🥰

Hands down best coffee shop / roaster in STL. They treat the bean with much respect. Excellent V60 pour-over. For serious coffee drinkers. Don't expect frappe's and cake balls here. For your best at home pour-over, take home a bag of the Ethiopia!

Sump has the best coffee I have ever had. The crew was friendly, efficient, and had clearly perfected their craft of all things coffee!! In the words of the Terminator "I'll be back"! 🤤🤗

For years we have enjoyed Sump coffee at one of our favorite coffee shops in Peoria, Illinois. My husband and I decided to take a weekend getaway, and naturally, Sump had to be on our destination list! We loved the variety of beans available for pourovers! The staff was knowledgeable and friendly! A great experience! We are excited to plan our next visit!

This place couldn't be any cooler. Great Baristas, great selection of coffees, great atmosphere. I got a Columbian pour over and it was very enjoyable. My husband got a choclate mint latte that was amazing and smooth. Good job Sump!
