Review of Sump Coffee

Sump Coffee is a popular coffee shop located at 3700 S Jefferson Ave, St. Louis, Missouri. This coffeehouse offers a unique and alternative vibe, making it a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The interior is adorned with lots of reclaimed-wood accents, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

One of the standout features of Sump Coffee is their commitment to quality. They are known for being one of the best roasters in the Midwest, if not the entire country. Their house espresso blend is highly praised for its perfect balance of acidity, fruitiness, and floral notes. Whether you prefer to enjoy it on its own or with steamed milk, you won't be disappointed.

The skilled baristas at Sump Coffee craft incredible drinks. Every shot pulled here is perfection, and the milk is always impeccably textured. Many customers claim that Sump Coffee serves the best cortado they've ever had. If you're feeling adventurous, their specialty beverages are always interesting and worth a try.

Sump Coffee is not just a place to grab a great cup of coffee, but also a place to relax and enjoy the ambiance. The interior is hip and stylish, with a unique decor that incorporates wood elements. There is plenty of seating available both inside and outside at tables.

One thing to note is that Sump Coffee has limited operating hours. They are open from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday to Sunday. Some customers have mentioned that they wish the shop stayed open later, but the quality of the coffee and the friendly service more than make up for it.

If you're a coffee lover in St. Louis, Sump Coffee is a must-visit. Whether you're looking for a delicious espresso, a perfectly crafted pour-over, or a specialty beverage, you'll find it here. The combination of their alternative vibe, reclaimed-wood accents, and exceptional coffee make Sump Coffee a standout in the local coffee scene.

This is one of my favorite places to buy coffee beans. They always have a unique selection of beans to choose from. The atmosphere and service are also a plus. It is definitely worth a visit if you like coffee!

The best coffee I've had in months. We drove to St. Louis from Memphis just to visit Sump and it exceeded expectations. If you're into craft coffee you probably remember the first cup of coffee that blew your mind, and if you're like me you probably spend years trying to replicate that. Sump did it for me this weekend.

Costa Rica "La Julia" does what many coffees fail to do: it lives up to the tasting notes on the bag. Low acidity fruity sweetness, milk chocolate with a light tobacco finish.

The espresso tonic was delicious. Citrusy, sweet, light and refreshing. I've had a couple of "coffee soda" concepts from all around the South, and Sump is up there with the best of them.

I had a Cortado because you can tell a lot about a coffee shop by the attention they put into correctly steaming milk, and it was really good. I don't normally have milk drinks but the Cortado was sweet, and the espresso paired well with the milk.

Service was good, and shop vibes were great. If I lived in St. Louis, I'd be a regular.

The staff were so helpful in not only explaining drinks and brewing methods (which I love), but also providing great things to do in the area for travelers such as myself! The coffee is definitely 10/10

Simply the best.
This is my favorite coffee shop in Saint Louis. Your beverage is going to be thoughtfully brewed and delivered with care.
Cold brew is top notch!

Great cafe that takes coffee serious. Great place for studying and meeting with friends. Highly recommend the kyoto cold brew (kyoto actually invented cold brew!) Or have a sip of the beet root latte which is non caffeinated but equally as delicious

Among the best if not the best in STL for coffee. Staff is professional and friendly, product is outstanding. If you are serious about coffee, you can not be disappointed here. Check it out.

Amazing! This was my first time visiting Sump Coffee but definitely won't be my last! The staff was so nice and friendly! Tried the Mexico El Maguey pour over coffee and it was amazing. Fresh and hot. And the taste was amazing. Definitely will be back for another visit! Highly recommend to any coffee lover!

After hearing about this place, my husband and I wanted to try their coffee.
Although coffee was good, the person who took our order was rude. When we asked for suggestions and recommendations since it’s our first time, he just said it’s personal preference and shut us up.
While we were having our coffee, many other customers came and asked for suggestions and the same person who took our order gave them lectures about the coffee and their beans.
We felt we have been treated differently and totally ruined our experience.

Very hipster style place with weird vibe. Not much indoor seating despite space of shop. Huge variety of drip coffees. I am not normally a black coffee drinker, but they had over 8 varieties to try. Batista that we ordered from was very helpful and explained what differentiated them and what might be good to order. Was nervous about black coffee, but the taste is so potent that you wouldn't need much creamer. I tried the Costa Rica blend, which was good and very exotic. Coffee aficionados must stop in. Also had a latte, which was good.
