Love everything about Shaw's. I'm there every week or so to buy beans for home use, but hang out for a few minutes every visit because the staff is fabulous. We've tried most of the other local coffee places, but Shaw's is by far our favorite.

Best vanilla latte I’ve had since I lived back in Wisconsin 2 years ago. I love non-chain coffee shops and haven’t found one here I’ve loved yet, but this may be the one. My drink was smooth and so tasty. Not too milky as I find some lattes to be. The perfect balance. Another perk- the barista made it piping hot. YES! Thats my favorite. I always find myself asking “extra hot please” but would never need to here. Stayed hot the whole car ride back home. Ordered a muffin too, because they looked so tasty; delicious and dense. I’m a baked goods freak and this satisfied my desires. Ambiance is beautiful and warming. I coulda plopped down and did work all day. Wish I lived down the street from this place! I will definitely be back.

Wow! What a beautiful atmosphere. The baristas were so quick and accomodating. I love the amount of seating and the quiet vibes.
I wouldn't bring a child here unless they are incredibly well behaved, but there really wouldn't be much appeal to them except for the cookies.
Definitely give this place a try if youre in the area!

Exceptional coffee shop. Fresh and delicious pasteries. Good chai latte (with an interesting hit of rose water). Vintage decor perfectly suited to the Hill and the history of the building. Great place to work, chat with friends, or just enjoy a cup of something delicious and warm.

This is the perfect coffee shop. The shop itself is unique and interesting with several places to sit, including a cozy little cubby in the old vault (used to be a bank) and there's always the right amount of background noise. Their coffee and snacks are always amazing, too. I usually get a caffe au lait and it's perfect every time!

I've been going to Shaw's for over a decade. They brew strong, bold coffee. They roast their own beans (it's a treat to visit on roasting days), and offer some excellent pastries and quiches baked in their own kitchen.

I think a tall latte (iced on hot days) is the best drink in the house.

good espresso with medium brightness, solid body, and a great aromatic finish. The music is pleasantly weird but quiet enough to be ignored. Decorations are very cool, particularly the rail lighting, leaves painted on the tables and the "vault room", a converted safety security box safe room.

The location and decor are great here. I live the little vault in the back. But my espresso was not pulled very well, it extracted in about 10 seconds, which is way too quick. Because of this, the coffee was quite bitter. You shouldn't judge a coffee place just by one espresso, since it is mostly impossible to get consistent shots, but the technique and care seemed missing here.
