Very hard to describe, but insanely good and must be experienced by anybody who is looking to try new food that will surprise you. Flavor packed and unique!

OUR EXPERIENCE IS ONLY FOR HAPPY HOUR
Walked in and wasn't too busy, quick service and food. We ordered the 2 wagyu bao, 1 tofu yam bao, char siu fries and laab wings.
The wings were okay. The spices and flavor were good, however I wish they added more of it!!
The char siu fries, GET THEM! Cheesy, salty, some acidity, great combination.
Wagyu baos- the patties were thin and a little salty. Overall okay.
Tofu yam baos- delicious and crunchy.
The little baos are little, so you'll need a few of them to fill up!
Overall, I would consider coming back and checking out other food items other than happy hour.

Easily the best restaurant we’ve tried thus far in St Louis.

I went to BAO with my husband during restaurant week and our minds were blown! The atmosphere was trendy, the drinks strong, and the food DELICIOUS! I’m STILL salivating over the soft shell crab bao and fried sesame ice cream sandwich. We can’t wait to go back and enjoy more!

The soft shell crab bao lived up to all the hype. The cocktails we're great and the staff was nice!

Long wait for take out, they were busy though! Had to go get the order from the counter, which was sitting there. Other than that, good.

Very good food and service! Tried 3 different bao and they were all great.
In & Around St. Louis
Super excited to try BAO. We were seated quickly and then everything went in slow motion from there. The bartender was lazy as hell. Glasses, dishes piling up on his bar, slow at making drinks. On the night in question they did have staffing issues, and if that's the case, stop or delay your on-line orders. Multiple customers stopping in to pick up food only to be told, not ready, not started, very frustrating situation.
Our food was over an hour wait. Cooks & wait staff, eating fries openly from the serving bowls, absolutely disgusting. Some of our food was hot, some was room temperature. Not impressed and not worth the $85 bill. After this experience I tried for 2 weeks to call and get ahold of someone to express these concerns, no response, no answer. There are quality restaurants with quality workers serving a quality product in and around the area, don't waste your time or money here.

Just BAD. Service was lacking majorly. We ordered two drink and four bao burgers when we sat down. The waitresses never made our drinks, forgot napkins, forgot extra plates, and tried to cash us out before completing our order. We waited forever for basic service. The portions are mini slider size so you’ll want more than one or two. The wagyu was good but the fried shrimp was bland. We didn’t get to order more since the waitresses were distracted by other patrons. Our cocktails were bother under and overwhelming. My pear tree was too strong and his o.g cocktails was a watered down seltzer. I expected more and could see clearly some people were able to have a better experience. I wish I could catch them on a good day but I would never come back for a round two. Little to be desired.

I had never eaten bao before, but my girlfriend and friends wanted me to try it out. It was very very delicious. Once I figured out what everything was and what to order I was not disappointed
