The restaurant closes at 10. We arrived by 9 and were told we could not be seated because the kitchen closes soon. Poor cuatomer service, and ahould probably just list that it closes at 9 to prevent people from thinking there is still and hour. Dodnt offer carryout option.
Our server was hilarious and excellent. Food was whimsical and delicious. The steamed buns were a refreshing twist on various genres of food. Great overall experience! Not really understanding the decor/vibe they’re going for, but who cares!
The food here is nothing like what you see in the advertised photos. The seemingly signature softshell crab bao was about 1/4-inch crab and 2-inches of nearly burnt poor breadding.
I don’t know if the chef has changed, but the overall food quality was disappointing and not worth the overpriced baos. We also got the katsu curry, where the katsu breadding was nothing close to what you would expect at a legitimate Japanese restaurant and the curry worse than what you get at an Asian market.
Good food but have to give it a 3-star for service timing. I dined solo, for lunch, and it wasn’t crowded-and it took 45 minutes + to receive my food. One chef and one server won’t cut it and they seemed to be prioritizing takeaway orders over dine-in customers. As diners return, restaurants need to be ready.
Husband and I had lunch here during a business meeting we had two Boa and a Tom Kha soup it was excellent, the service we received from the waiter was great as well. Also try the Rose iced tea it is very refreshing!
This place used to be a 5 star but the new menu makes smaller portions. This is nice in that you can try multiple but worse in the fried dishes that used to be really good now taste overdone. There is no option to get the bigger ones anymore. However the dishes that were good (the Char Siu, Kakuni) were really good. Basically anything that wasn't fried was pretty good. The Wagyu bao tastes like any other burger (maybe it's American Wagyu?) but the toasted bun was nice. The lobster wasn't for us but I can see how other people could like it.
However the service and atmosphere is phenomenal. This is traditionally my favorite place if I'm getting a cocktail due to the cozy atmosphere.
The bao is decent but way too expensive for the size. Beyond that i spent 5.99 on a boba tea that is literally smaller than my hand, it probably holds less than 8oz of liquid. If i knew it was going to be that small I wouldn’t have ordered it, but the doorddash photo is misleading. The boba itself is a weird gelatin texture not smooth and chewy like most boba. Also was told my bao order came with free fries and I didn’t receive them.
Awesome food, drinks and service. The udon noodles with pork belly and tom yum is delicious! The dumpling appetizers were also delicious. Will definitely be returning!
I want to say the service of the staff was absolutely wonderful (especially since it appears they are severely understaffed). However, the food was not spectacular. Nothing 'wowed' me or impressed me one bit. I tried most of the menu and just didn't care for any of it including the katsu chicken, bao, and a few of their drinks.

Sooooo tasty. We order 6 diff kids of bao: fried chicken, spicy chicken, softshell crab, pork belly, char sui, fried shrimp..
Softshell crab = winner winner!!!!
Also, my kids devoured the shoestring fries.
I'm coming back!

The only thing I liked were their fries.
