Had some good black Friday deals. The book sellers are very knowledgeable at this B&N and were able to answer my questions, help with gift ideas, and seemed well read.
Cafe:
The mocha and Irish cream cold brew were barely drinkable.

I have always said that Barnes and Nobel is my second home. This store has very helpful and professional staff members who go out of their way to accommodate your queries. The staff is always willing to look for items that you might not be able to find or even see if they can order something for you. They offer different payment and shipment options that you may not have even considered. Very helpful staff indeed!
I have noticed a couple of things that they might consider - they are unwilling to order items for you that may be on Barnes and Nobel online. When people such as myself buy the bulk of my Barnes and Nobel purchases in the store, helping me with an online purchase shouldn't be such an issue.
Also, as a huge impulse buyer, if a new book comes out that is part of the series, please have the series available for purchase, not just ordering. This is where I'm sure they've lost money on other impulse buyers as well.

Update: 3/10/2022
With American TV being so mind-numbingly dull, please gather all British/ Foreign TV shows into one area instead of hiding them all throughout the store. This would make it much easier to locate shows and make purchases.
Thank You

Update: 10/25/2022
Well, they have revamped the way they sell books, so if you are looking the more affordable mass market editions they only sell in store a very limited amount. So you'll probably have to order them or go to Amazon now... Sad, very sad.

I'm so split on Barnes and noble. It's not really a local bookstore but it's also so fun to wander the shelves and hunt for your next read. The biggest issue is they are almost always and I mean 99% of the times more expensive than online retailers. I'll go out of my way to pay a little more for local shops but I'm not willing to part with my dollar to prop up a national chain. Though I'd miss them, if they can't be competitive price wise I won't be shipping here.

Girl with glasses and brown hair made me and my friends super uncomfortable my friend didn’t know if she already payed for the book and the girl at the checkout working there said “well find out” in a super rude voice and my bestie turned to talk to me and the worker lady said “girl I heard nothing I just said” like um ok ms barnes and nobles worker we weren’t talking to you I said I wouldn’t leave a bad review but that lady was super mean

Condescending cashier.

It seems the cashier working on 5/28 around 6pm is single-handedly trying to put the Mankato B&N out of business. I am a store member and shop frequently. However, he berated me for not bringing my own bag and after I apologized and explained I had stopped in on a whim (my arms heavy with Target bags, also where my car was parked which is on the other end of the mall) he continued to scold me. His friend behind me at checkout even added ‘there is no excuse’ and they had a good laugh.

Idk what he gains from making the customers feel like they are global warming problem #1, but hopefully it helps him sleep at night :p

I’ll be sure to take my shopping online from now on.

I typically borrow books from the library or come by them free or cheap but today I wanted a particular cookbook, hardcopy. Nice stuff, front check out counter could be less cluttered with impulse buy items. This is Barnes and Noble not Dollar Tree. Have some pride. The 2 gentleman cashiers were great.

I appreciated the help I finding a book I needed. She even gave me a coupon for Starbucks! The only suggestion is, that I am single, maybe do a 50 cent or 1 dollar discount on a coffee drink. Just a thought. My coupon was a buy one, get one free I think., The store was clean and well organized. Sorry. no photos this time.
