Gator's Grilled Cheese Emporium

This place was great! If you are looking to try something new and tasty this is the place to go. The service was freindly, the dining area was beautiful with art and lots to look at. The prices were good, especially for the quality of the food. I will definitely be back!

Very personal, friendly, warm decor, centered around Gator the Shelty dog whose picture is the logo. A train goes around the main section with wood loft like ceiling (cabin feel) with a large stone fireplace. Nice kids meal surprise frisbee which is the kids meal plate.

Small menu but it's all delicious! Service is great and you can have a beer at 8am with your breakfast burrito! That's a win to me

It was good and fast. It was a very good grilled cheese, but it was still a grilled cheese. Come in with the right expectations and you'll have a great experience. Great customer service!

Went here once while staying in the Ely area for the summer. Food was okay. They are very busy and we almost left because it took us a long time for our server to greet us and get our order. We might go back one more time if we were in the area. But there are lots of other choices in Ely

Don’t let the name fool you: this “grilled cheese emporium“ has delicious dishes for the adult palette. Very large portions (consider sharing). Comfy atmosphere, and friendly staff.

This isn't your average restaurant. Vera makes just about everything from scratch. I'm a rueben fan and Gators is by far the best. They are kind people who help the community. Great place to dine with children.

My family and I walked into the restaurant around 20 minutes before closing and as soon as we walked in they turned us out. One of the hostesses said that she would want to give her workers a break after having such a busy day. We’re a family from Florida and had heard good things about this restaurant, but now we no longer want to give them our service. It was very disappointing and rude.

I waited 1/2hr with two kids to ask for food, after we ordered. I was then told it would be another 20mins. I said I'd have to go if that was the case and was told that I'd have to pay for the food! They said it was a lot of food. We ordered 1- 12in pizza, 1 salad, and a cup of soup, and a side of cubed potatoes! 50mins for that! 😄 Anyway, two minutes later our food was there. The waitress snarkily told me she did this just for us. Inferring I was some kind of trouble causer. Man, I haven't had an experience that bad in a long time.

Great sandwiches! One of the top 3 places to eat in ely. Outdoor seating too on a great deck. Wonderful mac and cherse. Very kid friendly too.
