Gator's Grilled Cheese Emporium

Great, friendly service and the food was quick to our table! It was also quite tasty

We ordered the Denver Grilled Cheese, Turkey Avocado Melt, Pulled chicken and pepperoni pizza...all were absolutely DELICIOUS! The sides of Mac-n-cheese and the seasoned potatoes put everything over the top. Highly recommend eating here.

The food was good and the coffee was awesome. My server, on the other hand, was horrible. Everything was inconveniencing her, and you could see it all over her face. She was very snippy and made passive aggressive remarks. I've been a server for 6 years and would never treat my customers like she did. The only reason I left a tip is because I believe in karma. You can have the best food in the world, but if the service is bad that doesn't matter. I won't be back. Btw my server was a old lady with short hair.

Love it , awesome food and there was not much of a weight

I rarely give restaurants 5 stars because I like to reserve for the best of the best. Gator's serves some of the best, or perhaps the best toasted cheese I have ever eaten. Along with that, they serve it with a smile. Friendly people employed there appear to love what they do.

We are traveling from Indiana, and we liked this place so much the first night in Ely, that we went back our second night. While waiting for your meal, you can play board games they have available.

Overall, super friendly staff, good atmosphere, and great food make this an amazing place to visit when traveling to or through Ely.

The corona virus has severely limited there menu but still way worth the visit. I had the basic grilled cheese and tomato soup. It's the bread that makes it great. The tomato soup has basil or something that really makes it. Really what else goes so well together? Grilled cheese and tomato soup, I mean really, what else? Thanks to the virus you have to sit outside but you're in Ely. So, outside eating grilled cheese sandwiches and the best tomato soup at Gators in Ely, it's full immersion.

Great for kids. My three year old loved the Mac n cheese, the frisbee on which it is served, and the train running on the elevated track

I loved the turkey avocado sandwich. If they’d had an IPA on the beer menu, I’d given it 6 stars ;)

Had the ham and Swiss. The bread in phenomenon and so is the thick chunks of ham but could've used a little more cheese. The menu is a little small but overall enjoyed it very much.

If you are looking for a great place to have lunch in Ely , this is THE place . The food is always delicious and their homemade soup is a great choice , year round . You can taste that they cook from their hearts . This isn’t fast food , this is slow down and enjoy your lunch food . There’s books , games and art to keep you entertained while you visit with friends or take a break from work . Portions are large enough for leftovers and the price is right . The staff is friendly and warm and they love your dog as much as you do .

I have eaten here in the past and the food is great, but now the service is lacking. I was excited to eat here again when I was turned away because the restaurant was closing in an hour. I didn't show up at closing time, but a full hour before closing time. Upset, but not discourage, I came back the next day around Noon and waited in the waiting area for 20 minutes. No acknowledgement from the staff. I walked out after that. Again, the food is amazing, can't stress that enough. But the staff needs some adjustments.
