Our trip involved excellent food that left a bad taste in our mouths. As a non-white person with two mixed race kids I am very sensitive about how we are treated by many fancy restaurants. We were looking forward to dining in one of the elegant dining rooms. We were seated in a corner of the bar, out of sight of the other diners in the dining room which I had been looking forward to sitting in for days. I am sure this was just a regular innocent decision, perhaps we booked the last table. But things like this happen far too often to us to always be a coincidence.
I let the restaurant know in advance I have celiac disease and can't consume gluten, and I was assured there are many options. I almost ordered the fried oysters which are battered in chickpea flour which is gluten-free and as the waiter wrote down the order I asked "is it fried in the same frier as other gluten containing ingredients" and it turned out it was so I had to order something else which was modified by omission to be gluten-free.
I ordered scallops for my main course, again with the emphasis on no cross contamination. The scallops arrived with cubes of duck fat fried potatoes. I asked if they had been fried in the same frier as gluten containing ingredients and they had which meant everything on the plate including the lovely scallops was contaminated with gluten. They took away the plate and I sat twiddling my thumbs as the rest of my family ate their very delicious main courses. Then just as they had finished their main course I got the scallop dish with the potatoes substituted with wonderfully excellent vegetables which I ate while my family looked on. However, the scallops were suspiciously cold. I can't know for sure what actually happened, but it is sad that I even need to think about it.
The desserts were excellent, including my panna cotta and polenta cake. Indeed, every starter, main course and dessert was outstanding.
I appreciate it is very tough to cater to difficult customers like celiacs, and I have no expectation that any restaurant should. However, if a restaurant does agree to cook for me then it would be good to take more care over my health. And I know I live in a white person's world, but I would ask such establishments how it looks to seat people like us in the corner of your bar and how that makes us feel.

An absolute treasure! The food is as local as it gets! Each night is a new, beautiful menu of in-season, fresh today ingredients, spun into elegant, true-to-the ingredients dishes. The flavors are bold and the combinations inventive. The service is also excellent.

My wife and I almost made the decision to not go here due to the several recent negative reviews. I am so glad that we decided to keep our reservation as this was THE best dining experience we have ever enjoyed. The food was perfectly prepared and full of fresh flavor, with each course served at a well timed yet unrushed pace. The building itself is beautifully unique as a former home turned restaurant, and the grounds are several acres of gorgeous gardens where many of the kitchen's ingredients are harvested. We were even fortunate enough to bump into the proprietor, Chef Kelly, as she came out of the back door of the kitchen to cut fresh herbs for dishes being prepared at that moment. The only thing we could have issue with was our seating in the upstairs bar which was a bit noisy, but even that is excusable as we were fortunate enough to get the last reservation for the night. We will go out of our way to dine here again and if you are at all hesitant of giving Primo a try do yourself a favor and JUST GO!

My wife and I truly had one of the most delicious dinners in a very long time at Primo! The seafood was absolutely delicious and the desert was scrumptious! Our host, Ed was amazing and we enjoyed our evening with him. The ambience of the restaurant was so inviting. We continue to speak of our evening with Primo and do hope to return one day! It is definitely a dining experience you will not regret! 💯🙏🏻😉
Carpe Diem!

We had a wonderful dinner at Primo. Met all of our expectations. A very special experience. The entrees were exquisite and the fresh pasta is outstanding. Save room for amazing gelato and sorbet.

A beautiful restaurant. Very pleasing to the eye. The vibe is casual yet refined and there are lots of different areas to see and enjoy. The upstairs porch is a really nice place to enjoy a cocktail while you wait. Because wait we did. At least 2 hours before we were seated. But my amazing Blueberry Martini made me less impatient. Our meal however was fabulous! All four of us ordered different entrees and all four of us loved them. The oyster appetizer was so delicious and fresh. Our server was obviously very busy but I felt our service was good and attentive. I would definitely go back but make a reservation a few days in advance.

Loved this place! Incredible atmosphere for outdoor dining, and also offered socially distant indoor dining.
Food and cocktails were amazing! The pizza app is a must, and the malicious spritz was fantastic. Would definitely come back here.

This was our second time dining with Primo and I must say it was truly an amazing dining experience!
*** First & Foremost, anyone dining out right now during Covid 19, please be patient. They are working so hard to follow guidelines and are stretched thin. Do not complain online if you wait a little bit to be sat... they have to take so many precautions to make sure things are done right. Keyboard warriors should stay home if you want a pre-Covid 19 experience ***
We arrived early because I didn’t get to view the farm last time. It was amazing to see their chicken coops and pigs on the farm, being raised properly. The produce they grow was beautiful.
We checked in with the hostess. She was very kind and explained it would be slightly delayed. We understood and waited patiently like adults on their beautiful porch. A server working the porch was very busy but took a moment to see if she could order us a drink. I think she saw we were waiting, but it was cool.
We were sat in the downstairs dining room and to our joy we had our server from our last experience, Ed! He immediately recognized us after having only dined once back last September, and said welcome back! Before I dive into the food experience I will say Ed is a wonderful & professional server! If I could steal him to work at my restaurant I would! I asked him to pair wines for my courses and he nailed it! I want to note that the entire staff was amazing under the pressure they were dealing with. The hostess handled the door with grace. The other servers we watched were constantly on top of their game, and the food runners that brought our food knew every detail of the dishes and answered all questions.
The food!!! Chef & her team work magic! We started the meal with the charcuterie board which was different from last time but still as delicious. The coppa & head cheese were my favorites. We followed with the most tender octopus I’ve ever had, a heavenly salad with egg & croutons, and a stuffed squash blossom fried to perfection atop of ratatouille! All were perfect. We ordered the Ricotta & Nettle Gnudi & Cast Iron Seared Bluefin Tuna to share. I love pasta and the Gnudi were on point. The chicken & garden peas were a perfect compliment. The star of the entire meal for me was the Bluefin Tuna (it was hard to pick a favorite). That all of the onion Aïoli is something I could replace water with for the rest of my life.
We finished the meal with the perfect strawberry & rhubarb crostata and A chocolate Dessert name that slipped my mind but was equally as delicious.
Chef was gracious enough to sign my fanboy menu, and I chatted with what I believed to be a manager about the art work on my way out. This place is truly a experience and the staff is top of their game.

Absolutely a must. ITALIAN farm to table it really doesn’t get much better. Went last night with the wife and everything from the bread to the salads to the main course and the deserts was incredible. Highly recommend this place one of the best dinning experiences we’ve had.

After 20 years of visits, not one disappointing meal. Great service. Comfortable atmosphere and consistently amazing food.
