This quaint farm to table restaurant is not to be missed. Thoughtfully crafted food options, a full bar, and beautiful grounds to explore with animals are all a part of the experience. Not to mention the wooden bungalow lounge to grab a drink & light bar food. Make a reservation, bring your wallet, and enjoy!

Server may have been brand new or over-seated, but a little communication would have gone a long way if either of those had been the case. We were never asked for our beverage order, and therefore did not get to enjoy any cocktails or wine. We were asked if we wanted sparkling, still, or tap water. When one of our party said they would like sparkling, our server ran off. We had to call him back to inform him that the rest of the table did not want sparkling. Very strange to take only one person’s water preference. It was another twenty minutes before our food order was taken, and the way the specials were shared was bizarre. No mention of preparation or sides, just “quail” or mention of the protein. We were told oysters were $2 each, and then after we ordered them, informed they were $3 each. Scallops were over cooked and the charred avocado on the summer salad smelled like a burnt tire. The tomatoes were overripe to the point of mushy rot. We were celebrating a birthday, and based on our dining experience, we decided to skip dessert altogether. Huge disappointment.

The food is absolutely delicious and the staff is fantastic. I highly recommend.

Terrible, overpriced food in a pretentious ambiance. Avoid this place. There are better restaurants in the area.

Absolutely delicious farm to table restaurant. They grow a lot of their menu in the back. Reservation highly recommended!

We are grateful to have this spectacular restaurant right around the corner. Last night I had the NY strip, others had the swordfish. Everyone concluded that it was one of the best meals. The service has always been fabulous, the venue classic New England, old large house converted to a restaurant. Food is local and fresh. Rated one of the best farm to table restaurant in the US.
Make your on line reservations in advance if you are planning on visiting Mid Coast Maine.

The outside garden is very cute. I visited before the restaurant was open and there is already line for people who didnt make reservation. Overall the restaurant is a lovely house but I wish on the second floor, the room on the left side has some windows or light coming through. It feels a bit like in a jail without natural lighting.

Don't believe the hype. Overpriced for the quality of food.
The salmon had no flavor. There was no attempt to season. It was sitting on a bed of bitter black quinoa and greens with basic acv vinegrette.
The pork, Saltimbocco, was way too salty, and served on a giant 'pile' of basic mashed potatoes, with one leaf of spinach, and a slice of prosciutto hiding underneath the meat. 2 very thin, chewy pieces served with au jue that tasted like it came from a powder mix. Unlike what Saltimbocco is supposed to be, pork tenderloin stuffed, "jump in mouth" tender. It was no better than Hannaford cheap pork chops.
We were charged for the entire table of bread ($2x6 people) even though each couple got a separate check. The waiter was definitely put out by this. Tacked on a 20% gratuity since we were a party of 6 or more. The service is interesting. Get fawned over by multiple people at the start. One served water and later bread, then another delivers a warm 'shot' of apple cider, then we have a primary waiter. He gave us 30-40 min to 'look over' the menu, leaving us with just water to drink. Oh, and strangely enough, I picked up my coffee cup to help the waiter. A simple thank you would of sufficed, but he was put out again, and said 'I could of handled that'.
The building is stunning, and they are in no way short staffed as most places in the area. That said, we will not return. $172 for two salads, 2 Entrees, bread and two coffees. Much better food with reasonable prices available down the road in down town Rockland.

Best farm to table outside of Normandy, France. Exquisitely executed. Make sure you reserve well in advance.
