Absolutely beautiful place to visit and spend time to tour the museum, the gardens, the grounds and homes and enjoy the food. This is a must stop destination while in Louisiana and if you are a history buff, you owe to yourself to tour the world class museum.

Beautiful grounds and great restaurants. We often drive one hour to walk the gardens and eat at the carriage house. Entrance is free if you’re eating there and not touring the house.

We used harvest host app and stayed overnight in our van. The grounds are amazing, the tour, fascinating and the restaurant devine. It was so worth every penny.

The tour guide was delightful and the house in beautiful condition. We are grateful it survived the war and numerous hurricanes. Such a rich history.

One of our favorite plantations to visit! Full of information and lots of manicured gardens to explore. No shortage of history! Danielle was our tour guide and she made it so much fun! The restaurant was very good and reasonably priced! Absolutely beautiful home and grounds. Watch out for the male turkey (Tom)!

We have been to Houma House and it gets better every time we visit! The first time we visited was right after the filming of Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte with Bette Davis. The second time someone had stolen the hand signed script by Bette Davis; so sad! It had been on a table in the hallway. I’ll never forget that

It's a bit pricey...but I have to say that the tour was worth the price. The house has been magnificently restored. The gardens are outstanding with an eclectic blend of classic and whimsical statuary. Great history behind the house. Very friendly folks that run it.
Note: They didn't mention the combo ticket with the Great River Museum next door. I now see why. That museum has no customer service. Just enjoy the Houmas House. I spent about 3 hours touring the house and gardens.

It was a great experience including the tour guide. Until after the home tour.

I was attacked by a swarm of wasps. Including another family. They informed the grounds person as I did as well. He did not have any care for the safety and just left the area, leaving other customers to possibly getting stung or worse. We blocked the area with the metal chair that was nearby. We informed the cashier at the entrance and he did not pose any sense or urgency nor do they carry any safety supplies for emergencies. He offered burn cream which actually could make it worse.

I would be very careful of the area, there are wasps swarming throughout the property. Other Plantations did not have any that we went to (7 total).

Fabulous plantation best gardens of them all! Food was fantastic at the restaurant and the staff was quite helpful. Spent lots of time wandering the grounds due to the numerous sections of gardens. I would give yourself at least 3+ hrs to view the house and all around the grounds. It's worth having lunch or dinner the food was absolutely extraordinary. Viewed the private villas or houses behind the property and they were also very well maintained, cozy and full or enriching amenities well worth the expense to stay if you have time. Over all fantastic experience!

It is overpriced for what you get. Price does not include tours for the price you have to pay for the room. No military discount which all others do. Rooms by the road suck. Hearing trucks starting at 5am. Internet did not work. And to top it off Xmas tree still up.
