Nice and kid friendly tour guide man. Neat collections and antiques in the house. The owner lives there and allows tourists to see his personal space in the mansion. The landscape was lovely with a lot of statues. I would recommend the visit iif you are in the area. There is a buffet and cottages to stay in. The buffet had eight items to choose from. The menu looked to have better choices. The buffet included BBQ sauced chicken, fried catfish, red beans, rice crawfish ettoufee corn, bread pudding and a lettuce salad with Feta. There was also Gumbo.

Absolutely beautiful here! We ate inside the old plantation house. They have guided tours or you can walk the grounds.

The gardens are so peaceful. The French martini at the turtle bar was perfect. This is a great place to just step out of the hustle and breath.

Oh my oh my oh my. Perhaps my favorite!!!! The eclectic items in and outside the home are certainly of the current owners personality. He has done a great job of ensuring the "story" continues to be told. The gardens were spectacular despite the rain and season.

You won't be disappointed!! The house was gorgeous, the grounds were stunning!! Tour guide of the house was very informative. They have plenty of food options and don't miss the bar because you can get a drink and see stunning architecture! Oh and don't get me started on all the beautiful tree!!

Lovely grounds. Cafe was delicious. Would love to visit again. Also super dog friendly. My dog was allowed to tour the house with me.

The Houmas House took southern hospitality to heart today! The house, museum and gardens were not only beautiful but they are the perfect setting for a wedding or event.

Our tour guide was super knowledgeable and friendly, although I struggled to understand most of what he told us, as he spoke soft, wore a mask, and had a beautiful, but strong accent. I especially liked that we were allowed to touch certain things throughout the tour, that is not typical in these types of tours, but made it very memorable. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous and there were lots of animals to view on the ground as well. Walking the gardens and taking the tour, are a great way to spend an afternoon. We ate lunch at the cafe, and the food was good and came out super hot and fast. Next time I'd like to visit the Maritime museum, as well, or stay in one of the cottages onsite.
