Magpie has great drinks and sweet treats. The kitchen always cooks up something delicious. They also have great salads and sandwiches. Sometimes it can be crowded but it has great atmosphere and ambiance whether you're trying to study or catching up with friends over coffee.

Great food & the most fabulous server ever. She's super friendly and loved her personality. I don't usually recognize servers by their name in my reviews, but I'm making an exception for Sarah. It was a beautiful day and we were able to get a table outside along 16th Street. The combination of the food, service, breeze, weather, etc all made the dining experience a great one. We started with the Moonstone Mojitos. Delicious and strong. If you're looking for a good drink, this is the one to order. The Pork Belly Bao is a must order item (if you're not watching your figure). I love the fusion taste of the pork belly, with super juicy meat, basil, cilantro, onions, etc. Highly Recommended! I had the Magpie Single Burger. The meat could have been cook a bit longer, but that's okay. I loved the caramelized onions and fresh pickles inside the burger. Fries were tasty too. I had a few bites of my friend's Rib Eye Steak and loved that too. It was a very big piece of steak though. Probably shared between 2 is a better idea.

Delicious! Their breads were amazing and the coffee was impressive. They were quick and the service was friendly. Thanks for making my morning a delicious one while i was visiting Baton Rouge! I will be back!

Wonderful lattes, friendly staff. If you're feeling indulgent, get one of their incredible in-house baked goods (but go early, they frequently sell out).
Food is good but not standout. Vegetarian & paleo options abound. On the pricier side for the size.

This is my favorite cafe in town. Reminds me of home in the Pacific Northwest. The seating could be a little less cramped though. I love the outdoor patio! The coffee is great, it's very Portland-esque, and I go here more often than anywhere else (especially before Covid-19).

Great coffee brewed from Portland beans! They're true to their word with organic, local, and seasonal food daily. Also I recommend the green juices- freshly juiced fruit and veg are the ultimate health food energy drink! The owners and staff have a trendy, laid back vibe. Don't let it fool you though- they're all very knowledgeable and passionate about what they do.

Stopped in for dinner and drinks. The menu is pretty limited, but the avocado stuffed with shrimp appetizer is super tasty and the pizza is solid.
For dinner, it was brightly lit and felt very much like a coffee shop. I would come back, but probably stick to coffee and pastry for brunch.

Delicious Lattes, Caffe Au Laits, and Cappuccinos! Pleasant atmosphere, and enclosed outside seating.

The first time I visited Magpie Cafe, I was very plesently surprised. The atmosphere is great and the shop itself is very quaint. Staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgable about the menu and was able to offer up the best suggestion for my first visit which ended up being a macchiato. I throughly enjoyed my drink and the taste of the fresh ground coffee whilst sitting on their outdoor patio during sunset. I encourage all LSU Campus locals to try out this great spot for amazing coffee and a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
As a side note, anyone that complains about: 1. The quality of the coffee doesn't understand what good coffee tastes like, so I recommend sticking to Starbucks or CC's. 2. The price has obviously forgotten that this is a locally-owned, mom and pop joint.
