The Basil Leaf Café

Basil leaf met all expectations tonight! We did a last minute pre thanksgiving girls night out and it was my first time back since they moved. It was 10x better! Every table was full. They said it’d be an hour wait and we got in in 20 mins!! Our server Emily was amazing. She gave all of the recommendations and accommodated my dietary restrictions. She is so kind and checked on us frequently!! I love the new locations. Vibes are great!!

The food was ok but the server was a little off of her game. I would try again based on the kitchen. The chef aimed to please👍👍 Generous portions!! The cocktails were good as well.

Absolutely a restaurant u want to take ur family or have a small dinner date! Food was delicious and no conplaints. I would go again and would make it a top priority for newcomers in the downtown area and anyone on a visit from another country or state. Best food ive had in awhile!!

Basil Leaf is one of the best restaurants in Lawrence, especially if you are looking for a fun night out for pasta. Elaine provided excellent service and was super attentive to all of our needs!

Very friendly staff, a light and tasty Basil Chicken Cavelletti. Will definitely be back. I got my son shrimp fettuccine and he said it was delicious.

I was craving some chicken parm yesterday night and found the only Italian restaurant in Lawrence was this little gem. I glanced the menu before coming and saw some items that caught my interest, I really wanted chicken and went with the tortellini cordon Bleu.

we had the bruschetta as an appetizer and it was crunchy,sweet and cheesy. I also highly recommend the strawberry lemonade refresher, it's so light, sweet and refreshes the palette.

I have never had tortellini before so I was s but nervous trying it, rather than picking something safe, I went bold. it was so thick, creamy and rich. the crispy chicken and bacon bits really compliments the flavor.
my boyfriend ordered the penne abruzzi and it was also spectacular, the basil coming through and giving your tastebuds a pleasant wave of flavor. the proportions for the plates is also generous.

our server was also great and I thank her for suggesting the refresher!

over all an unexpected romantic dinner we had and can't wait to come again.

The food was delicious and our server, Grace, was amazing. She was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this place!

Been going here for years and heard it went down hill. Had a terrible meal and staff up charged on items.

This little hole in the wall cafe really surprised me. The bruschetta was flavorful, not overly baked at all and the deconstructed lasagna was delicious. Definitely coming back here
