The Basil Leaf Café

The food here is absolutely amazing! Food, drinks and service. I've been 3 times. The first time was perfect. 2nd time the food was really really salty. Not sure if they just had an off day but the 3rd time was just as good as the first.

We ate there Sunday. The calamari were excellent, but my arrabiata was inedible. I have had this in Italy many times and make it at home, and this was a very poor imitation + the pasta was way over cooked. My wife's shrimp pasta was not any better.
The house white was good as was her martini.
If you go there, double order the calamari.

Really enjoyed this place. The food was great, very cozy atmosphere and very nice staff. I would definitely recommend it.

What a fantastic experience. I'm not sure what made it feel some comfy, the cheerful staff the open kitchen or the delightful aromas that danced in the air, but it has a wonderful vibe the second you cross the threshold. I usually don't rave about the small things, but when someplace does something so exceptional I feel obligated to brag on them. I ordered a simple Caesar salad and what came out had me questioning if I had ever really experienced a Caesar salad before. I can't recommend this place more.

Over-priced, mediocre food. We made a reservation but were told we could only have the table for an hour. This was a little shocking, especially given the price we were paying for dinner.

A cozy lovely restaurant. We had reservations, they fill up fast I was told and I could see while we were there, they were quite busy. The food was delicious and plentiful, a bit different than the typical Italian fare, probably more authentic. I would definitely eat there again.

We got take out from the Basil Leaf Cafe last night. It was hot and delicious. I got the chicken tenders and they were cooked really well. My husband got the tortellini and that was good, too. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the risotto could have been a bit better, however maybe that was due to it being take out. We will definitely be dining in soon, so I may need to update my review.

We were visiting from Manhattan and saw The Basil Leaf was one of the few places open till 10 pm, as it was close to 8 and most places closed at 9, we decide it would be a good choice and the menu looked delicious. We walked in about 8:15 and waited to be seated at the hostess stand for about 5 mins before we were told that someone was having a bad day so they were not seating any more walk ins. No where does the website say reservations only or reservations preferred. Moreover, the website said there were no reservations passed 8pm. I wish our experience was different and I don't think we will try again.

Well if you are a past customer of Basil leaf You might be a bit disappointed. First of all we made reservations a week in advance and they told us they had messed up and overbooked but they have us a discount for sitting us at the bar tables while other tables remained open the entire time. I noticed that myself and other diners were sweating, pretty uncomfortable. Atmosphere is very different fine of the intimate quiet place but it looks fine. Calamari was excellent, cocktail was great. Cajan penne was great. Basil chicken pasta had no chicken Anna’ and so much oil it was almost inedible and shrimp fettuccine was fine. They did apologize and discount for the mix up.

Apart from the pretty lackluster parking options, The Basil Leaf Cafe does a good job refreshing traditional Italian food and building some new flavors to raise the experience. Definitely a place I would go to again for some good Italian food.
