Riverside Cafe

I don't give 5 star reviews ever and especially if I didn't get what was ordered but... This is the best breakfast I have had in years! Reminds me of mom's when I was a kid. I wanted sausage links and got bacon but it's so good I don't even care!!

Wait staff is extremely hard working and I mean that in a good way. They don't appear to be understaffed just that they all looked like they were working at making sure everyone was taken care of. They seem to work well together too like a well coached team. We went here today with friends for the first time. One of the things I liked the most is that we weren't "bothered" with help questions every 2 minutes. They just seemed like they knew what we needed and took care of it before we would have thought to ask. The food was excellent. I ordered the #1 breakfast meal. The pancake was huge and ended up slightly undercooked in the middle due to its size, but tasted great nonetheless. The bacon and eggs were done exactly as ordered. My friends were commenting about how good the fresh cut fries were. They own a potato food truck business and for them to give high praise on fries goes a long way. My wife enjoyed her meal too and is glad that we decided to give Riverside Cafe - Derby a try. The restaurant has a very strong family dining atmosphere to it. They are very supportive of being a local Derby eating establishment. It was refreshing to see everyone there working so well together. Kudos to a well run dining area.

Friendly service. Good basic food. They've upgraded their coffee - good. Reasonable prices. A neighborhood place to meet friends for breakfast. Fried chicken on Friday. Big biscuits.

Great food service and atmosphere

I tried so hard to love this place. I live near by and have ordered from here close to 20 times. Everytime I do order, I just hope it will be different and it never is. There is no love put into this food. There is no quality control. It is oily and cheap. I hate to say all this because I love to support local joints but it's true. I hope they change but luckily there only competition is also oily and cheap here in Derby.

Went on a Sunday. Very busy as expected. Next to no room to wait at, but that's more of a building design flaw. Seating space was open once we got in.

Items on the menu were pricier than expected but that issue went away once we saw the portion sizes.

Food was plentiful and delicious. Everyone left happy, no one left hungry.

Food was decent. Our waitress was spread thin but always helpful and was very nice. Lady at the front taking payment was unfriendly and rude. Ruined a pretty good overall experience.

Very good food at reasonable prices

They were busy when we arrived, with several open tables but due to being short staffed, they weren't bussed. Host was quickly cleaning up and wiping down tables. Waited for our waitress and menu and then waited for awhile to actually order. Spent an hour in the restaurant for mediocre food with very little flavor. The pancake tastes like waffle batter, went good with the salty sausage patty. Wait staff was moving quickly and knew alot of the regulars. They were friendly and did their best. Not the greatest food. Won't be returning.
