I've come to the slow down many times over the last couple of years and It's always been such a pleasant experience. I like to bring my work there, there are plenty of outlets, tables, and a good internet connection!

Visited on Sunday 3/12 for the first time and thought it was lovely. I had a vanilla latte and a cinnamon roll, both were delicious.

Great coffee and tea options! Comfortable environment. Pleasant staff!

Beautiful little shop in a historical part of DSM. The staff is friendly, the treats are delicious, and of course there's coffee! We've been buying the beans from them for months but it was nice for someone else to make me a cup!

I love that there is still a coffee shop open later into the evening. Sometimes it’s nice to have a spot to sit and relax after dinner.

This place is more about politics than coffee. Nothing "slow down" about it. There is an uneasy and unwelcoming vibe about this "coffee shop."

The coffee is below average for a "high-end" coffee shop but they have excellent cookies.

Politics are jammed down your throat and it is inescapable.

I almost didn't walk in, but I'd figured I had made the trip already.

On the positive note, they really seem to support the local schools.

Delicious drinks, great flavor combinations and very helpful service. I would recommend that you check it out!

Best coffee shop in Des Moines!!! They make a lot (if not all) of their own syrups, and offer very unique monthly specials, like Figgy-O (fig newton) or Miso Coconut Caramel.

Menu and drinks are incredible! Very cute inclusive community space with local art, flyers of local events, and different local merchandise. Sometimes it can take extremely long to get an order. We were the only customers and got 2 small drinks and it took 20ish mins one time.
