This place is fantastic! My coffee was extraordinary! I brought my niece and nephew and we loved the station where both I and the kids could color. Our muffins were extraordinary and so were our bagels! The staff was nice and considerate!

Needed to do a virtual conference while out of town and Coal Yard was very accommodating. Plus I got to enjoy live music after. Friendly staff, lots of seating indoor and out.

Coffee was great but the girl working was unfriendly. No hello no goodbyes no thank you. I didn’t feel welcomed. Also, from the reading material, the ouji board disks to the conversations going on, it felt dark with a demonic spirit. Great coffee tho, just not a place for me.

Awesome atmosphere and friendly staff. Mad cool art, and just an all around good vibe. Plus the coffee is da bomb.com

I went here because I was working at Walking Waffle stand during the Irvington Halloween event and I was right next to this place. I have always enjoyed coffee, but never had actually been to a coffee shop, and just used my Keurig at home with some coffee creamer and sugar.

I was somewhat weary before going into here thinking I was about to pay $8 for something I did not like. Upon getting to the front of the line, I straight up told them that I knew nothing about coffee, but still enjoyed it for what is was. The very friendly lady (I did not get her name, but she was wearing a witch hat), asked me if I wanted a surprise and I agreed. About a minute later, she came out with a latte. I still do not know what kind, but it had a sort of cinnamon kick to it. I enjoyed it very much and it ended up only being $4 (and some change) for a medium. I ended up coming back again, around closing time. The same lady assisted me and I asked for another surprise, but not the same one as last time. Again, in about a minute, she came out and handed me a latte, but of different flavor. This one was more nutty and smooth. I enjoyed it even more than the last one. This one ended up being $3 (and some change).

In the end, what I am saying is that this place is amazing for anyone new to or highly into coffee. The place is warm and rustic, the staff is very friendly, the coffee is fantastic, and the prices are competitive to other coffee stores. You guys earned a new loyal customer!

Enjoyed the atmosphere and coffee! I almost didnt find this shop as it was not as openly labeled as your typical box coffee shop. This added to the experience as I went inside and found a unique surrounding of art, home crafts and community items. The place is also very wheelchair accessible with the garage door that can be opened exspecially on a nice day.

Happy to give this place five stars! Laid back, mellow, truly accepting place with really terrific coffee. The Aztec mocha, which has coffee, cayenne and chocolate, is to DIE for.

My favorite coffee shop in Indy. Eclectic and "weird", in the best sense of the word.

Lovely coffee shop with great eclectic decorations and neighborly staff. The fire pit out front is wonderful in the Fall and Spring to sit and sip with friends and family (in non-pandemic times) and it's a short stroll to the Mug, the Black Acre beer garden, and the Irvington commercial corridor. It's right off the Pennsy Trail, so it's in a great location to grab a drink and walk around the neighborhood. I stop off whenever I'm in the area and craving something caffeinated.

I had such high hopes for this coffee shop. Its a really neat coffee spot in one of my favorite parts of Indy. I'd been here once before and hadn't been overly impressed by my coffee, but I wanted to give it a second shot. I ordered a cappuccino, just plain, which is my standard coffee shop order. The espresso tasted burnt - to the point that my coffee wasn't drinkable. I was so bummed! The people working had been so great and I had really hoped the coffee would be good.
