This restaurant was amazing. It’s authentic. The staff their are very friendly. It can get very expensive, but I think the taste of the food is worth it.

Have you ever been treated like Cinderella? Me neither until 2/18/2023. I had a surprise birthday party at Proximo Restaurant which is owned by Baker Street. I was told there had been a mix up with reservations prior to the dinner but owner James made everything 200% right.
Never in my 70 years have I ever seen the generosity and care that the owner shown me. I wish I were a writer so I could put into words how I feel. I am so blessed to have a loving family, friends, and James who made my fairy tale come true.

This restaurant has a South of Mexico inspired menu. I had a glass of oban 14 year as my drink. Not much to say there it's a good scotch. My entree was a Caribbean Halibut. It was well cooked with a crispy outside but a flaky soft center. Well spiced and cooked wrapped in a banana leaf. It was served with a pineapple type garnish on top of a rice with vegetables. Rice was cooked perfectly no mushy grains no loss of shape but not hard, It was also well seasoned. For dessert I had the Flan it is a passion fruit flan topped with a glaze and fresh raspberries. It was smooth and sweet while still preserving the tartness and flavor of passion fruit. Overall I would recommend this restaurant to anyone with a penchant for well cooked flavorful foods. But be warned this restaurant is on the upper price side.

We are so glad we came here for dinner our first (and last) of four nights in Fort Wayne.
Our first night we shared the shrimp sope as an appetizer. Generous amount of shrimp with veggies on a bed of cornbread (tortilla). Delicious. We each had a frisee salad, and my duck on mole sauce was terrific and the portion was huge with two legs and thighs.
Service from Aaron was spot on… attentive and responsive, yet not intrusive.
We enjoyed the food and service so much, and the menu was very enticing, we inquired of Chef Kevin if he was willing to make a meatless paella for a return visit. He enthusiastically said YES.
So, four nights later we returned for another excellent dining experience. The seafood paella for my wife was excellent, loaded with shrimp, scallops, mussels and clams, topped by a lobster tail. My specialty seafood pasta with mussels and clams prepared in a romesco sauce was similarly delicious and devoured eagerly.
Wines enjoyed were a generous 10 oz pour. Sunday night all wines by the bottle are 20% off.
A stellar two dining experiences!

Proximo is always a fave and a safe bet to be more than pleased! No matter if you go for brunch or dinner. Upon moving to Fort Wayne it was one of the first restaurants I visited. First and foremost; their customer service is ALWAYS over the top!! My most recent visit was on Easter Sunday, where I made reservations about a month in advance, managed to get my head count wrong also, and they still accommodated us with no issues! Staff is always very knowledgeable about the menu selections, and will customize anything for you. The Latin flair within the dishes is also greatly appreciated because uh’m, HELLO! we all know you can’t go wrong there 🤤 🤩
No matter your palate preference you will love Proximo!

This is one of my favorite places to eat downtown, great service and amazing food selections especially the dessert! This place is truly one of a kind! Plus the lemon hibiscus tart is to die for!! I've been here now twice in one week for work meeting and now for a celebration! They also give you a complementary dessert if you're celebrating something! My husband and I have gone here for our anniversary dinner 3 years in a row (since they opened!) Can't wait till to be back again.

My wife has the unfortunate plight of some really goofy food allergies. They're crazy enough that we have to be very careful and picky about the restaurants we go to. We tend to stick to what we know is safe and are very skeptical about trying new places. About 50% of the time when we do go to a new place, we get an eye-roll, or a shrug of the shoulders at the very least. If they do take her allergies seriously enough, she usually ends up with a boiled chicken breast or something of the like which has absolutely no flavor. The burden of trying to create something she will like that will be safe is completely understandable. But the experience usually leaves both of us feeling frustrated and not really valued.
So, when we went to visit Proximo this past Friday night, our expectations were commensurate with our experiences at other places. To say we were pleasantly surprised is an understatement!
When we communicated my wife's allergies to our server, he smiled and said 'we pride ourselves on being the place that caters to people with dietary restrictions just like you'. He immediately went and found the manager. The manager then brought the chef out to meet us, who gleaned not only the complete list of my wife's restrictions but also really dug into getting an accurate picture of her tastes. The chef came back out at least 2 more times to ask more detailed questions, and the end result was my wife had a meal that she enjoyed so much she was literally in tears.
Proximo staff, I hope you're reading this. I want you to know how much you blessed my wife, and me in the process, by the way you treated us. Your chef is an artist. It's inspiring to watch someone with his level of passion and skill work. And it's beyond heart-warming to walk away from our table there feeling as valued as we did by your entire staff. You guys just made it to the top of the list of our favorite restaurants in Fort Wayne.
God Bless you all

Well I came here because I believe that the folks that own the Hoppy Gnome own Proximo, and based on my friends recommendation, I thought that I would check the place out, and it did not disappoint! Everything was tasty and delicious, I can't wait to go back to this restaurant. Fort Wayne certainly has some gems!!

The restaurant was very elegant. The service was timely. Our waitress Jess was very familiar with the menu and helped us put together multiple courses of amazing cuisine. I appreciate having a taste of Latin America in the heart of Fort Wayne. The Columbian Ceviche was the perfect balance of sweet, heat, and citrus. The chicken tortilla soup was hands down my favorite course of the night. The soup was heartily filled with shredded chicken, peppers, corn, peppers and many other flavorful ingredients. The seasoning blend for this soup was perfect! The strip steak was offered as the Chef's weekly special. It was cooked medium rare just as I ordered it. A simple seasoning on the steak allowed for the quality beef to be appreciated. The Orzo was light and served as an excellent vessel to carry the steak. It was also rich with sauteed veggies and I was surprised to find some tasty slices of chorizo mixed in there dish as well. The potatoes and brussel sprouts came as enjoyable accompaniments to the steak. We ended the night with a complimentary dessert of Caribbean Spice Cake which was as delicious as it looks and sounds. Served hot in a cast iron pan, the combination of the cake, glaze, and ice cream made for a delightfully complex dessert. Thanks to Proximo and their staff for helping us celebrate our special evening. We look forward to coming back to try out your brunch.
