Great experience! Ordered some sandwiches and soup to-go, everything was super tasty and well packaged for to-go/travel. Gluten free bread option was excellent and well labeled. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

Stopped by for a breakfast of corn beef hash and coffee from heaven. Had a tough start for a cold and wet November day and the first sip of house roast put an instant smile on my face and warmed my soul. Quality not quantity on the hash and I ate a bit too fast so I could get back to savoring the extremely good brew of a second cup. Coming back oh so very soon.

We came here after having a horrible experience at Victory Cafe.
And man we were not disappointed. The staff here was accommodating to our large group right off the bat. The service was quick and efficient and delivered with a smile. We could not ask for better service.
The food was also phenomenal. I had the Brie Bliss sandwich and I would suggest it.
There is great art on the walls. An employee, or maybe the owner, came out as we were admiring the art. She thanked us for admiring her art. She was very sweet and it was nice of her to engage us.
Overall it was a great experience

AMAZING! I have been coming to Galena for years and I’m so glad I finally tried this place. This is a must for anyone visiting. I visited here on 1/16/2020 with a group of 10. We walked right in and were immediately seated and got paired with Sally as our waitress. Sally was the definition of a great server. Everything we ordered was way above anything we expected from a little sub shop on a Thursday at 11:15am. Ordered by our group were several different varieties of their coffees and all were exceptional. The prices were also great. I wish I had taken a picture to share for this review but that gives me an excuse to come back next time.

Having Breakfast at Big Bill's is a must if you are in Galena. Food was great. Like many places, they seemed a little short on staff, so be patient.

Stopped in twice today at Big Bill's and was very pleased both times. The staff was so friendly & helpful in the morning that we stopped back for lunch before heading back to our hotel. Had the Chicken Vegetable Soup and was it so warming and was perfect on a cold day like today. I ordered the Black Forest Pretzel Sandwich & he ordered the Cranberry Chicken Salad Sandwich both served with the house made chips.......both sandwiches where fantastic. This restaurant has a limited menu but that is what makes it great they do everything well from my scone in the morning to my sandwich later in the afternoon. What I think makes me enjoy this place besides the food was the staff.....they seem to enjoy working there and are just so friendly & helpful I hope Big Bill appreciates his wonderful staff. So from someone who works in the restaurant industry I highly recommend Big Bill's Sandwich & Coffee Bar.

Made a last-minute trip to do some sightseeing in Galena, Illinois. Inquired at Nine Generals Cigar Company for a restaurant to dine at. The Beefy Roman sandwich was highly recommended and did not disappoint! Friendly service, good portions, and plenty of people watching. A+!

Nice place and the food is good. Would normally give it 4 stars, but the service was lacking. So have some patience if you go.

Great sandwiches. I had to have corned beef for St Paddy's Day and found it at Big Bills. I had a Ruben served with homemade potato chips! The sandwich was huge. I had it for lunch and ended up skipping dinner because I was still full. The coffee there is awesome, too. The owner roasts his own Big Bills coffee. I ended up buying a pound to take home. Rich, dark coffee but not bitter. For dessert I had a blueberry-cream cheese tort. Also, delicious, I just wish it was bigger. The restaurant had a nice inviting atmosphere and the owner and his employees are young, friendly, and eager to please. The artwork on the walls are photos taken by the owner's mother, a professional photographer I'm told. It really added to the ambience. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant. There's even an AirB&B above it so you don't have to travel far for good food if you're staying there!
