Big Bill's Sandwich Shop and Coffee Bar

Absolutely love this place. My wife and I stayed in the Air BnB above the shop, which has an amazing view of Main Street. We would drop down for a coffee and breakfast before starting the day. The food is amazing, the coffee is even better and they even roast their own beans on-site. Excited to bring a bag of roasted coffee back home to keep the memory alive.

Great all around sandwiches and coffee with deli thin sliced meats. My husband and I shared the Black Forest pretzel sandwich and superfood salad, perfectly energizing lunch. The only place in Galena that has offered a salad with the dressing on the side, everything is balanced perfectly flavor wise and the freshness of the ingredients is notable! They also serve alcohol, nice enjoyable ambience also! A must see/dining experience in Galena, everything else has paled in comparison! I didn’t even get a chance to take photos because I tasted it and it was too good to stop eating. Excellent and attentive service, very prompt.

Not gonna lie i’ve made better sandwiches myself with less ingredients to work with. Coffee was very good but still trying to wrap my head around the fact that I spent $16 on a soggy sandwich and soggy chips that left me feeling sick. Sadly disappointing. Also one of the sandwiches says it’s top 10 in Illinois…. that’s a lie.

Absolutely delighted to finally try Big Bill’s. We are typically late lunch eaters, so we miss their 2:00 closing time. Today, though, we hit it right. Delicious Ruben. Awesome Pesto Chicken Soup. Genuinely gracious staff. Thanks, Courtney, for the soup recommendation. That really hit the spot on this frigid day!!

Amazing place. Got a deli sandwich one day, then came back the next day for breakfast. Everything tasted amazing, staff was super friendly, and the prices are a great value. We will be coming here every time we stop in Galena

The Bomb and the Chorizo Burrito are the BEST! Big Bills roasts and grinds their own coffee beans and makes a robust coffe I love. It’s my favorite breakfast cafe in Galena

We love this spot for lunch. Every sandwich we’ve ever tried is so good and the portion sizes are great. Highly recommend going here closer to 11am as the crowd gets large later in the afternoon. A great place to grab an iced coffee on the way out before shopping too!

Wonderful breakfast. Excellent coffee, chai & iced teas. All the breakfasts were great. Eggs cooked to perfection & excellent breads & pancakes.
