Skinny Mike's Ice Cream & Shave Ice

Friendly staff, fresh flavorful waffle cones & yummy ice cream! If you're debating it... get the hot fudge! 🤤 10/10 recommend!

Excellent assortment of flavors. Service can be a bit slow but it’s worth the wait. My favorite so far is the blueberry cheesecake ice cream but a mint chocolate chip shake will cool you off anytime!

The shaved ice is HUGE. Beware! But it's also DELICIOUS. Same with the ice cream. 5/5 for sure

We tried three times to go to Skinny Mike's, and it turns out the third time really is the charm. The first time the person closing the store a few minutes early said "We're closing early because we have stuff to do." We were glad we finally got to enjoy Skinny Mike's. What really made our visit enjoyable was the young lady running the store. We came in after dinner and had a pleasant conversation while she helped us choose ice cream and sorbet flavors. Her friendly and pleasant attitude was infectious, and she told me I could try as many flavors as I wanted, which helped me to make a more informed decision (the kaloa coffee ice cream was incredible). She didn't complain when I sampled what may have been an unreasonable number of flavors. I would come back just to hang out with the young ice cream salesperson.

It is definitely mandatory to get shave ice whenever you travel to Hawaii. If you're near Lihue, you have to stop by Skinny Mike's ice cream and shave ice!

I got their shave iceberg, which was so gigantic and worth it!! It starts with scoop of your choice of ice cream on the bottom - naturally, I chose macadamia nut. Then, it's topped with shave ice. I had the employee helping us surprise me with flavorings and she didn't disappoint! She chose lychee, strawberry, and vanilla. Finally, it's topped with condensed milk. This was so huge that I shared it with our oldest son.

My husband and other sons opted for just ice cream, which is still delicious, but I will ALWAYS choose shave ice over ice cream when I'm in Kauai.

Very solid. We did the snow caps which is shaved ice with a scoop of ice cream with more shaved ice on top.

I had the rainbow w/birthday cake and my wife had the Kauai sunrise with the sunrise ice cream.

I would recommend both, ask for cream/condensed milk to be poured on any of the shaved ices, it’s a game changer.

We stumbled upon this place while walking around the hotel resort area. I'm so excited that we found this place. I love ice cream, it's my favorite food to eat, and they have a great selection of flavors and unique ones too. The employee was super friendly and patient he let me try whatever flavor I wanted and as many and I wanted. I ended up getting the Ube with Coconut and it was delicious. I also got the Macadamia Nut one as well because when in Hawaii why not load up on Macadamia Nuts. My husband got the Strawberry Cream one and that was delicious as well. We saw some people get Shaved Ice and the size was outrageous, it was the size of a soccer ball! It was crazy! You can load it up with ice cream under the shaved ice too. I would definitely return and get the shaved ice with ice cream and get the best of both worlds.

The workers were nice enough but we got chipped ice and first night. Gave it a second chance the next day more of the same. It's shave ice! Any way the Mocha I ordered was barely warm and cold at the finish. Would not go back.

Great homemade 0ld fashioned ice cream. Flavors are awesome. One of the best ice cream that i've ever eaten.
