We were looking for a place that opened early to grab coffee and a quick meal before a long hike, and I'm so happy we came across this place! We got some coffee and tea, both were delicious, as well as the food. We got the super girl sandwich on an everything bagel and sunrise breakie with plain bagel which went well with the honey butter. Probably one of the best breakfast meals we had on the island!

Another local favorite that fell far below expectations. The Cuban sandwich was very stingy with the meat. I tried the ube cheesecake with a white coconut frosting. It looked fantastic, but the taste fell short. Also tried the purple potato salad. It was good and the novelty of the purple color made it fun. The coffee came very highly recommended, but I found it very ordinary and certainly nothing special.

We ate at both Java Kai locations during our stay. Our favorite location was the Kai Bar in Kilauea- Kilauea. Each time we ordered online and our food & drinks were ready when we arrived. The food was delicious and left you feeling light yet refueled for the days adventures. We ordered the Surfer Girl every time and some baked goods. Both the chai and coffee were hot and fresh. The smoothies are very tasty and a great on the go item while you drive to your days activities. The place is clean and welcoming. There's seating indoors and outdoors at both locations. We grabbed some stickers and a hat to further support the small business and have some cool memorabilia.

A tucked away and nice coffee spot serving speciality coffee. Kitchen was closed by the time we came but my wife loved their tia coffee inspired drink while I sipped espresso. A nice place to stop between the waves and relaxation of the island.

Grilled ham and eggs sandwich is good. The bread is grilled and crispy. The latte is also good. Nice store decoration with lots of seats. They also sell their own beans. Seating outside and enjoy the breakfast here is a great experience. I would recommend to have a try.

One of the best espressos in Hawaii surely?! Plus tasty food too. I hope the pictures show how good it is. Not too hard to get served.

We came 4 days in a row for breakfast, as the coffee on Marzocco machine and incredibly tasty food with great choice! Definitely best spot on Kauai!

Let’s start with the espresso is dynamite! Food is awesome, both in quality and value. The 4 of us each ordered a different breakfast item and everyone was unanimously grinning and nodding.
Great spot for a short visit with friends or a place to chill with the music playlist. Saw lots of people hanging out in the patio too. If only I was a local! Definitely pinned on must visit while in Kauai - we’ll see you again.

We have been going to the Kapa'a location every morning (hot tip: get a coffee lunch card. Didn't think of it till our last two days but for sure would have earned one or two ha). Anyways! Kapa'a had great coffee and breakfasts so we came by here on our way back after a long hike to get a banh mi, smoothie, more coffee, and a cookie. The sandwich was awesome. Super tasty! Smoothie was refreshing (we got the lava lust) but more on the tart side than sweet (which we liked). Coffee had more coffee flavor than any of the ones from the other location which we also liked a lot.
And the giant chocolate cookie was too good. Tasted like the best part of a brownie. The chewy bits. I'll pick up another before we leave the island for sure.

Absolutely delicious. Fresh, tasty, healthy. Top choice if in the area. We had the Sunrise Brekky and the Surfer Girl sandwich. Both were yum. Smoothies were as amazing as well.
