From The Hearth Kitchen and Pie Shop - Market St

I ordered a jerk chicken bowl and the chicken pot pie soup. When I got home it was the wrong order. I called in and spoke to someone about my order. The person apologized and said I would get a credit to my account. Never got a credit after she said she would take care of it! Dinner comes and my ready to eat my chicken pot pie soup. It was not the same as 2 days that I had ordered. I took the soup back, spoke to the manager , she insisted it was the same soup. She didn’t even offer to refund my money. The customer is always right and the soup was nasty. I was very disappointed since I do love the Hearth! 🙁

Surprise excellent lunch sandwiches with chips and superb dark roast coffee. Their special variety of sandwich delis were delicious! I ate blackened salmon with vegetables and feta cheese - it was good! If you take a lunch break in Redding when you are on Greyhound bus, this is the best place for the lunch - you ask staff to take out sandwiches quickly before you catch the bus. It was well worth to stop there for your hungry food. The price was reasonable and affordable. That was my first visit a few months ago

Yesterday I visited this cafe second time, and it was not good. The staff tried to cheat me for change after I paid mushroom burger - ten dollars short. She apologized to me, but her eyes looked devious. There was no salmon sandwich this time, and so, I ordered mushroom burger. It was awful - too greasy. I decided I will not go back there again because they did not provide salmon sandwich or burger, and dishonest staff. I was disappointed for this cafe.

Food was great! Good atmosphere. Cafeteria style. Why do I need to tip the cashier? Tip jar very prominently displayed and comes up on automatic payment system. I tip very well for good table service, not for doing everything myself...duh.

It's a very nice little coffee place to grab a bite to eat as well as a drink. You are free to enter with, or without, a mask on which I personally like.

Staff are very friendly and patient, as well as quick working. I recommend this place to anyone looking for good priced food and drinks.

We held my daughters baby shower here in the overflow room which is made private when needed. It was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The room was large and very clean, the food was amazing and the service was beyond amazing. I will definitely come back again when in Redding.

We have ordered one omelet and 2 coffees, 28 dollars… sticky dirty cups, sticky table. Not well cooked potatoes and cheese. Tables are dirty and interior very old. Would not come back here…..

This place is a gem! The food is fantastic and to die for not to mention healthy for the most part and staff is very friendly and help full. We had a memorial celebration of life there recently and it was just flawless. Thank you to all of the staff. It was amazing.

Had the biscuits and gravy and it was great. Very good value, filling and flavor. Also the interior of the fron the hearth is really well done. Of the three restaurants they have this is most definitely the best. Lots of space comfortable booths, and hightops. A place where you could go for dinner or go to study. Great experience and I will definitely go again sometime.

Ordered a Tokyo steak bowl on my lunch break (6 pm) here person asked the “teriyaki bowl?” I said “no, the Tokyo steak bowl.” And guess she still put in teriyaki bowl because once I got back to work to eat realized they had given me the teriyaki bowl called them to let them know I could not make it back by the time they would close, but they messed up my order. Person on the phone told me that I had no choice, but to come back before they closed or they could not replace or refund my order. Even though the mistake was on their part. On top of that they put soo much teriyaki sauce on the food it wasn’t even edible…
