Tonight was my first time here. Mike helped me out and the service was excellent. Mike let me try their hot chocolate, let me tell you..it's WOW amazing lol! This place has Italy vibes all day, great decor, indoor/outdoor dining and a great selection of drinks/treats. Their tiramisu was authentic, fluffy and spectacular. For my drink I went with the mocha chocolate as the hot chocolate is very heavy n rich. The mocha helps sip the delicious drink down. They also have parking out front but it's hit or miss being in the middle of busy downtown. They follow covid protocols and place is very clean. Overall great first impression.

Although cafe venetia is one of the rare places open past 9pm in the Bay Area, there is a significant issue with the service. I have rarely seen such slow and oblivious staff. It is as if they are floating in the stars and not present at the cafe.
The drinks are slightly expensive, and I would completely understand charging a premium if the quality of the ingredients used was good. The cream inside the "chocolate mousse" or "pudding" uses a cream with a vegetable oil base which makes the whole chocolate base undrinkable. At least use high quality dairy! If you are charging a premium and taking pride into the fact that this is an Italian / European cafe, I expect a better quality of products to be used.

The vibe is more of a traditional Italian cafe (ie. no oat milk) rather than hip trendy SF coffee house. It’s a nice change and we thoroughly enjoyed our Cappuccino and Cappuccino Viennese (topped with whipped cream). Tasty!

They have a nice outdoor space to sit, the service is friendly and quick. I've only gotten the cappuccino or tea and they were good. The food looks very cute and appetizing though.

The menu items are in French so it's a little confusing.
I ordered a hot mousse chocolate with whipped cream 10/10
A cappuccino, tiramisu cake 🍰 and pana cota.
Tiramisu cake is nicely coffee based and less sugar so 10/10
Cappuccino was warm and tasty

Very nice Cafe on University a stone's throw from Stanford. Indoor and patio seating available with a plentiful menu of crafted hot beverages. I opted for a Latte Macchiato and a Pistachio Puff and was very pleased. My coffee was smooth and flavorful and the pastry complemented it perfectly. Check it out!

My experience in short: sarcastic and impolite language when taking my order, missing pieces from my order, serving cold tea, the pastry was not good at all, cups and silverware were a bit dirty, and it was too cold inside.
I'll visit this place again in near future and will update my review if I had a better experience.

Adore this place! Has quite a unique identity and aesthetic, as well as a good variety of coffee drinks and even some I've not seen in any other coffee shops. Plus, great desserts and seating!

Best espresso, Italian-style, in downtown Palo Alto. Their macchiato is exactly how I want it. Highly recommended.

I come here for the warm chocolate mousse, topped with whipped cream. Indulgent, but a small portion, so you don’t get overwhelmed or feel (too) guilty. Plenty of other espresso options, and a small pastry / food case, too. It used to have great indoor seating, now it’s more limited, but still has a good outdoor patio area.
