Came in to try for the first time before ordering for family Christmas get together. Thank goodness we tried them ahead of time because YUCK! 7 dollars for a glorified hot pocket. I DO NOT recommend the ham and cheese. It was terrible and the fried beef one wasn't much better. If I wanted shredded beef and scrambled eggs, it wouldn't be in this combo. The only thing that was somewhat good was the chimmichurri. We definitely WON'T be ordering for Christmas or returning anymore.

Relaxed and beautiful setting, feels like a cozy little slice of a finer time... When coffee and conversation were synonymous. Their music is unobtrusively pleasant, the plants are lush; someone there clearly loves using their green thumb! It's always spotlessly clean.
The outdoor patio is wonderful, too: in back or on the sidewalk.
Not a good choice if you are in a hurry or want starbucks - no triple flip double halfcalf grandiente with a tworled moosmillk froth.
Just excellent coffee and tasty food treats (also beer on tap) made fresh and delivered to your table with a smile.

I had never tried Paraguayan food. But I came here with a friend from Paraguay and he ordered a bunch of things for all of us. I think the highlights were some of the empanadas and definitely the desserts. I tried the alfajor and the guava tart. Both were delicious. We went on a Saturday at around 3 pm so unfortunately they had already ran out of milanesas. We also tried a couple of Paraguayan breads, so. I would have liked to see more veggies on the menu but other than that I think it was really good. I also tried the Tereré which was a refreshing drink but also a bit bitter. Overall we had a very nice meal at the patio, which is beautiful!

My husband and I just shared ham cheese egg and brisket empanadas and a guava tart. The empanadas were both wonderful. A good amount of flavorful filling and tender crusts. The tart had a nice buttery crust and I could probably eat 10 of them. We're definitely going back tomorrow.

Great little cafe! It was so nice to have the option of a light roast pour over. Highly recommend

Quirky menu. Excellent pastries and cookies. Delicious medium-size empanadas, including chicken and tofu. Delicious herb toppings. Fresh poured coffee. Indoor and outdoor seating. On a busy street and limited parking.

Skip the tourist restaurants down on Cannery Row and EAT HERE. We got the beef and pulled pork empanadas to go and gobbled them down next to the bay. We also enjoyed an alfajor and mate cocido. The food was flavorful and reasonably priced for the area. The staff was so nice.

Not to be missed. Amazing coffee. Both espresso drinks & pour overs. Beautiful outdoor patio. Friendly & skilled staff/owners.

Favorite Cafe in Monterey. Yerba Mate and empanadas are excellent, baked goods are great, good beer and wine too??! Never too busy, i think it's still pretty undiscovered. The secret back patio is amazing.
