1st time here. Didn't have what I wanted. Tried a chicken empanada instead of beef. Good taste with a lot of chicken. Slightly disappointed with the crust but the chimichurri sauce made up for the overall flavor. Most likely going to go back but plan to get there earlier in the morning to have a better variety available to choose from.

Found this little gem before going to the aquarium and it was awesome! We ordered a latte, a pour over, ham egg and cheese empanada, a cinnamon roll and média Luna. All of it was delicious. Totally recommend this spot for a great coffee and a quick small bite!

Wow, what a fantastic coffee and breakfast! I don’t normally leave reviews, but I’m sitting here drinking the rest of my coffee so impressed. The breakfast empanada was fantastic. The cappuccino is *chef’s kiss.* I love an espresso drink that isn’t too milky; this was perfect. I highly recommend this place before a day at the aquarium!

My parents are from Paraguay so I grew up with mate cocido, yerba mate, empanada and chipa. When I had kids I made them these, too. I haven't been able to make my own lately but finding this little gem brought back all the memories and tastes. What was even more special was having one of my kids with me. We spent the afternoon eating delicious food, drinking refreshing terriere and reminiscing about traditional Paraguayan foods and my mother's cooking. Oh and the Nantuti lace and the Nantuti lace paintings decorating the walls were Gorgeous!

This place is amazing. Best cappuccino in Pacific Grove (yes, we've tried them all). Baked goods, both savory and sweet, are extraordinary. The empanadas are filled with home-smoked pork and brisket, and served with chimichurri sauce. The cakes are the product of a top tier pastry chef. I love this cafe!

I've been here twice now and gotten multiple different empanadas along with their coffee. All together I think their empanadas are absolutely delicious. Super moist inside and the right amount of dry/crisp outside. The coffee was rich and had a good coffee flavor and the dulce de leche cream was also spot on. They also have a very nice sitting area outside called the secret garden. It's beautiful and overall a great place to enjoy some food or coffee or even just sit. I definitely recommend this place.

This eatery is increasingly becoming one of my favorite go-to-spots. Items we consistently purchase are the ham, egg & cheese empanadas, Medialuna pastry and a vanilla chai (extra chai to make it sweet). My partner loves the chimmichuri that accompanies the empanadas. I tried the sopa with meat, out of pure curiosity; it was just Ok, I’m not sure how they keep it hot, so the texture was weird, which I attribute to “‘maybe” being microwaved?? Not sure—concept and story behind it is cool, but I wished it had more flavor. On the flip side of that I tried a pulled pork empanadas and it had the kind of savory flavor I would expect of an empanada! Honestly, I like the customer service—the friendliness of the counter staff; they genuinely seem to enjoy their job! They want you to enjoy the experience and that goes a long way. The secret garden is also a must-see; a cute first date kind of space! Any who, as long as this cafe is serving up good delights, I will continue to trying all that their menu has to offer!

Great empanadas, and good coffee, too! Staff is super friendly, and there's a really pleasant patio out back. An excellent less-touristy place for a snack or lunch if you're visiting the aquarium, since it's an easy walk.

Lovely cafe with delicious empanadas. The empanadas are a good size and they give an amazing chimichurri on the side. I like the beef and pulled pork ones.

A taste of South American hospitality in Pacific Grove, Café Guarani fits the bill with South of the equator food, pastries and drinks of every kind. Filled with with wonderful smells of regional favorites and familiar usuals you can find something delicious to touch the spot...sweet or savory. Made to order drinks, food or sweets.
