Cafe Guarani

My first visit to this cafe was a good one. I ordered 3 different types of empenadas which were all tasty. The Ice'd Mocha and Chai Latte drinks ordered were a yummy blend.

One of my favorite cafés on the peninsula! You’ll find authentic South American food, the most delicious desserts, and a cozy place to sit and drink Yerba mate.

A beautiful spot for excellent traditional mate and baked goods. A do-not-miss while exploring Monterey Bay or the aquarium.

Delicious empanadas and pastries. The Açaí berry tea is so good, I’m taking a bag home. When we requested two mini cakes to go and told the barista that we were celebrating our anniversary, he gave us anniversary decorations. So sweet! Thank you for making our special day extra special.

Cortado is simply excellent. Savor each sip.
Also try the Smoked Brisket empanada with chimichurri - so tasty that it is worth skipping breakfast at your bed and breakfast to come here. Extraordinary pastry chef. Will try the Guava filled pastry next.

You are doing yourself a disservice if you don’t come here and get that brisket empanada! They smoke the brisket in house for over 12hrs till it’s super tender and then stuff it in one of the best empanada doughs I’ve ever had. Also, the people that work here are really friendly!

Officially worth the hype. I was so excited for a traditional empanada and matte spot to open up, and Cafe Guarani does not disappoint!!! Food and drink delicious, but even better is the helpful and friendly service. My mom and I asked for drink, lunch, and dessert recommendations and we were SO happy with the pulled pork sandwich (where is that bread from??), pork and chicken empanadas with super yummy chimichurri sauce, and an amazing Lemon Delight. The Matte Latte was a perfect for me since I don't love bitter drinks. My mom had never had and since she loves plain black coffee we were recommended the traditional matte, good choice. Mom loved it.
We have been back since last week just for more empanadas and matte lattes! The special empanadas and desserts have me drooling!

Got the Ham & Cheese, Ham Cheese & egg (different seasoning than the other!), and brisket empanadas.
Tasted SO GOOD
Also try their latte with chocolate syrup. The chocolate has an option to be normal or spicy (with cayenne). Tasted sooo good
Their guava tart is to die for. If you’re getting anything sweet get that. One of the best tart textures I’ve ever had

The empanadas, scones, cinnamon rolls, and coffee here are top notch! The staff are also very kind. This is the kind of place you become a regular at.
