Jantz Cafe & Bakery

A local institution, Jantz Cafe & Bakery is conveniently now in Merced, just a couple miles from my home. On my most recent visit, I ordered an Apricot Pie for the upcoming (based on recommendations from the staff) and a variety of cookies. The oatmeal cookie with M&Ms was good but not great; the pie I expect will be outstanding. Service at Jantz is always prompt and pleasant; my English department at the school I work at loves to have our end-of-semester functions there. Jantz in Atwater was very flexible with my cross country team coming in after a run this fall; even though the girls were all sweaty, the employees did not complain and offered great service, even providing free water to our runners who elected not to purchase anything. I always encourage out-of-towners to check out Jantz if they need a sit-down breakfast before leaving town.

Staff is very friendly and attentive. Quick and accurate service. We got our coffee refilled before we ran out. Checked on us often. Always smiling and pleasant. Food was excellent, as always. We try to come at least once a week for breakfast. Their sugar free peach pie was delicious.

I like the welcoming ambiance of Jantz, particularly the accommodating crew. Please keep it up!

But, I'm hoping that you will be able to include more Vegan options for customers, esp. for sandwiches and soups.

This is one of my favorite spots in Merced. Great food. Good service. This is a go-to for me when working in the area.

Enjoyed a slice of strawberry pie with hot tea. The pie was excellent.

Great Experience at Jantz. My friend and I just wanted to visit and weren't really hungry so we just had a snack. The waitress was still very kind and we stayed until the noon rush and decided to give up our seat since so many people were showing up!! Very busy place - just goes to prove it has great food!!

I really enjoyed the food and the attentiveness of Jantz Cafe staff. Breakfast is always the best enjoyment when I dine in.

Seated quickly dispite lunch traffic. Ordered the French Toast combo with potatoes and bacon. Potatoes need to be cooked longer and had no flavor.
