This place is really nice they're hot chocolate was a little bitter I prefer my hot chocolate to be a little more sweet but it did say dark chocolate. We got one of the Vegas from this place and it was incredibly good with some butter.

This place is super cute and has a great vibe! If I lived closer, it would be my go-to study spot. I got an iced chai latte with almond milk and a slice of banana bread; both were delicious.

Lovely staff and yummy selections. Go early for the best bread choices, otherwise most will sell out by mid afternoon. The decor is hip and cool, coffee is roasted fresh!

I was surprised to find an upscale, roomy, and boutique coffee establishment in Martinez. I would vouch for coffee people to make the trip from SF to visit this location.

Interestingly, my brother-in-law, in Seoul, Korea, wanted me to visit this place to see if it's a really good place. He runs a coffee shop out there and said this place came to his attention a while ago as one of the bucket lists of coming by. He ran into this awesome place while googling around California and picked this up as his ”want to go” coffee place in the Bay Area. Thus, my wife and I swung by ”States,” from Berkeley, and it turned out to be a perfect place for coffee and tea and whatsoever. BTW, they seem to comply with protective measures against Covod-19 very well: all the employees and patrons covered their faces.

The coffee is average. Tbh. Its over roasted and burnt which harms the flavor notes. Paid 4 bucks for a croissant that was bland af and had the texture of two day old sourdough. An insult to croissants everywhere. Their is an assortment of vegan donuts but you substitute flavor for sugar.
Coffee soda is gone so i recommend you get cold brew. Its ok. Besides its medicinal most of the time anyway.
Card only transactions is discriminatory. Pretending not to be able to take cash because of covid is a joke. failure to accept cash is nothing more than economic discrimination. Its funny that theyll accept cash tips though.

The baristas are happy, friendly, and know their stuff. Place has a local feel, proud to share their product with new customers and welcoming back old ones.
I've purchased ground coffee on several occasions to make at home, but nothing comes close to their marvelous lattes. Price is reasonable. Parking is easy. Atmosphere is relaxed-cool. Love this place.
I will use my Yelp check- in bonus to get a FREE Donut next time I go in. I was able to sit at one of the large wooden tables and use my laptop on their wifi. I will most definitely come back!
