This is a spacious coffee shop in a quaint block of Downtown Martinez. Locals come here to study and enjoy a nice coffee where there's tons of room to do so! I've always enjoyed their bottled cold brews and cortados. The decor gives me vintage-industrial modern vibes which suits the area very well. I've been frequenting this joint for years and their service & quality has been top-notch.

This place has been saved to my map for a hot minute and I was finally able to make a trip with the excuse of hosting a meetup. We ended up having 7 people total! Regardless, I ordered a hot latte (honey or vanilla, can't remember) and a slice of banana bread. $9. Yikes. So I ended up trading my hot for an iced with a friend and it tasted pretty good. After we were there chatting for a bit, I had my friend order me a cashew almond toast. It was so thick. The bread was a lot of chewing action. A lot. The cashew butter was runny but at the same time also thick. It tasted good but we didn't finish it which sucks because that was also expensive. Aesthetically it was a nice place but still came off a little pretentious? I definitely don't want to pay for a tiny coffee and banana bread for $9 again. I could buy an entire loaf and bag of beans for that much tbh. Service as really nice and there were plenty of places to sit. The layout is really weird.

Not sure why so many overall stars.
Cool atmosphere and interesting design. Especially enjoyed the coffee machine in the second hall.
Gibraltar coffee was flavorful however bitter. Roast was not mentioned while ordering.
Location is nice and staff was pleasant, although hard to hear through the mask.
Will have to give it one more try to hopefully increase the rating.

What a cute little coffee shop! We usually go to the Benicia location which is smaller and way more crowded. Happened to be in Martinez and had to stop for a ginger matcha latte, so good. I’ve heard their pastries are amazing but honestly I just always have to get an avocado toast and a Nutella toast. They’re definitely on the pricier side but so worth it. Employees are always friendly and in a good mood.

Long line on weekend morning. Seating has ridiculous bar across dividing the place in 2. Staff gave a hard time for not waiting in line again for a refill on my black coffee. I had no idea I should wait in the long line again! They should revisit that policy. They didn't have what I wanted to order. What the did have was great. Cranberry toast.

Cute spot and delicious coffee, but most of the time is close even in the webpage say Open, to bad. I drove from Berkeley to get some bread and alway is close before the time they post on website. I suggest to call before you plan to get there.

A lovely place to stop and grab a bite or spend a little time enjoying a coffee date with a friend. States Coffee is located in the heart of downtown Benicia. I ordered the avocado toast which I loved because they add feta cheese on top! Just wow! If you find yourself in Benicia, I highly recommend States Coffee!

The drip coffee took ten minutes to come after ordering. I don’t think it was worth $3+ for 12 oz but better than Philz and Starbucks. The staff is really nice the the coffee shop is huge relative your typical Starbucks. It is not easy to find parking in the historic downtown but the walk is not boring. Glad to see a successful mom-n-pop coffee shop doing well!!

My partner and I drive 20 minutes most weekends to get some of the toast and sit in the spacious area to get work done. The cinnamon toast is so good it's ridiculous. It's so simple but so good. Same with the seasonal jam toast. We have also brought some of the loaves home with us to have with some cheese and fruit. Fantastic. Lovely.
