Laverna's Coffee Shop

Very small cafe I recently discovered after living here in Tucson for over 20 years. Waitress was friendly. They have many flavors of huge pancakes! I chose the banana and pecan (without the nuts). It had crystallized sugar on top and it was wonderful. I hope to eat these delicious pancakes again.

A perfect place for a classic breakfast with kind service.

Phenomenal food at a great value. Warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff is absolutely wonderful and the pancakes... the pancakes are no joke. Come hungry.

I ordered the, ''SO CALLED'' Chicken fried steak. " YUCK"
The "POOREST" EXCUSE,
For that particular meal.
I have ever eaten or seen in my life. Whitch happen's to be,
all of Sixty Three Years.
And have eaten this meal
From the far east coast to the
West coast, and throughout,
The U.S.A.
Thus I had yet ever been
Served such a revolting and,
Again, "POOR EXCUSE" For
Chicken fried steak "EVER."
The Wana be meat product
Was some kind of generic
Frozen quick serve, smothered
With the most hideous, "BLAN"
WHITE Gravy, EVER.
Served along with " BLAN BISCUITS" And when I say,
And use the word and term
"BLAN" I'M not using it loosely,
Nor am I exajorating at all.
No flavor what so ever. Good or
Bad. Also served along with two
Eggs, which I asked for overeasy.
Instead I got rubber like eggs,
Which resembled and could
Easily have past for rubber gagg
Eggs.
However in all fairness the home
Potatoes were passable. After
Enhassing them with salt and
Pepper for flavor.
This place charges $2.50 for
Coffee, Refill's included,
Of course. However GOOD LUCK ON GETTING YOUR
COFFEE REFILL'S.
First off the cup I was served
Coffee in, held approximately
4 - 5 ounces. That wouldn't
Have been a bad thing at all.
Had I Had a half fast good
Waiter. But as luck would have
It, The waiter's dimeaner and
Attentiveness, WAS YES AS
BLAN AS THE FOOD SERVED.

No I didn't eat much of what I ordered.
I packed it home, I'm having a
Problem with coyotes and I have been trying to poison them.

Will I ever return. NOT EVEN ON

Great portions for the price! Food was excellent service was amazing with that home style feel. Just like mom and nana we're in the kitchen.Well worth the try!! Guaranteed new weekend customer. Thank you Laverna's. 😁

I came into this place to eat with my mom and family and our waitress named coco was amazing. She told us a lil about the place and made us feel so welcomed. We will definitely be back. Thankyou Coco we will see you again. Keep up the Amazing work sweetie the Rogers Family

Food here is always good.
I drove across town on Sunday for a breakfast omelet. Not crowded but busy. Staff appeared to be shorthanded and ordering the meal took extremely long. Our waitress appeared to keep forgetting what she was doing. Ordered coffee with cream, she brought the coffee and no cream, then said she'd be right back and could she take my order. Coffee was cold when she returned. with the cream. 15 minutes later she returned with my omelet. She asked if I needed anything. Told her that some eating utensils and a hot cup of coffee would be appreciated. When she returned, my omelet was cold and I asked if she could have it heated. I think it had been sitting to long in the kitchen before she brought it to the table. When I finished the omelet I asked if I could have another cup of coffee when she realized she had not brought me my toast that was supposed to go with the meal. Even then, there was no butter or jelly brought to the table. Didn't matter, toast was cold too.
Just not my usual experience at Lavernas, but bad enough during this house arrest period, thanks to our ignorant Mayor, that it will be a long time before I drive across Tucson for breakfast again here.

Laverna's was awesome first time being there 😯😯 had great company with Ciela....Denver omelet w/homefries red menudo looked yummy n the banana pecan pancakes DAMNNNNN yummylicous 😋😋

Excellent staff, both kitchen and wait; great breakfasts, good selection, SUPER omelets and huge 'custom' pancakes. Big portions, friendly faces, fair prices. ❤️
