The service was really slow. We asked for the check when our food was brought to us bc the whole ordering and drink process took so long (we were in no rush but had to ask for lemons for our waters twice and that took 15 minutes when the restaurant was half full) and the two tables near us had the same issue. One table, a man was getting loud when asking about his food arrival. The place looks great and the drink menu is longer than the food menu. Recommend the brunch menu over the dinner menu.

Been here several times. It’s a very nice establishment that satiates the finest of taste buds. Any foodie can find the flavors they are looking for here as well. Went last night and had Stephani as our waitress. I would say she gave one of the best service I’ve ever had in all my food outings! She went so far as to recommend several wines and let me taste them. Eventually my picky taste buds eventually settled on One Fish Two Fish (See picture).
Ordered the Aloha Plate and some deserts to finish off the meal. Everything was just bursting with flavor!

My wife and I had brunch on her birthday and she was very happy. Make sure you have reservations, we had reservations and the wait was at least 15 minutes. While you wait have a cup of coffee. Guys, please give your seat to a gal because seating is very very limited. The restaurant in my wife's words is very Seattle-like and she loves it. The seating is spacious and unique depending if a table or bench. The drinks and food was very tasty. The Spicy Bloody Mary was spicy, so order a regular Bloody Mary if you want less pepper in your drink.

Love this restaurant. Great food and coffee, including gluten-free options. I can always find something here to eat that makes the wait worthwhile.

Absolutely delicious fish and chips. 100% recommend!

Great food and great service with a modern look and feel. This place is always crowded so put your name down, go next door and grab some coffee and wait around for your name to get called.
The breakfast here is phenomenal and I say that as someone who is from Georgia and has difficulty finding good Southern breakfast food all along the west coast. Biscuits and gravy with the eggs here was about as close as I have gotten to the meals I’ve had back at home. Great food, service, and modern atmosphere. Would recommend the breakfast menu here.

This place was recommended to us and I'm so glad we checked it out! It's got a super cool vibe inside and I expected the prices to be higher just based on the atmosphere but was pleasantly surprised when I saw the menu. The great selection to choose from and the food we got was delicious! I got the bacon Mac and Cheese and it was a great portion. The pumpkin pie dessert was great too!

Service was slow as they were understaffed/bussers were hanging out and not clearing dishes. Waiter never offered a second beverage and was generally quick to rush off after each brief interaction. Stick to the simple meals here as the more expense plates are just disappointing especially at the cost point. I had the Roasted Beet salad (very tasty) with salmon (way too salty but cooked well). My wife had the Sopa De Mar which was a complete disappointment. The dish was served lukewarm, very little flavor overall as they just dumped a can of low quality stewed tomatoes in a pan with some oil, stewed tomatoes were hardly cooked down and tasted raw, and the seafood quantity/quality was completely lacking for a $30 dish. It was served with two cheap shrimp, six tiny clams, and maybe 2 oz of fish - what a joke... I have tried (visited more than 10 times) to like this location as it is a 5 minute drive from my house but it just comes off as pretentious. I wish South would take a little more inspiration from Spenard Roadhouse....

We had an awesome experience at South. Our first time. We were looking for a place to celebrate my sister's first time in Alaska. This is the place. Nice semiprivate dining room for special events. We had two of their special cocktails.... The gin and juice and bees knees. Both great. For dinner we shared one tapas...ahi poke and 1.5 pounds of AK King crab. Never had the crab before. We were surprised how each leg was already opened up. Does everyone in AK do this for you? Our server, Cindy, took excellent care of us. She recommended the chocolate mousse for dessert. It was outstanding. All in all a perfect place for a celebratory dinner.

Place send upscale. Went in during peak hour but found a table in the bar. The staffs were friendly and knowledgeable of their extensive menu. We ended up with the calamari, truffle polenta, mushroom cooked in flavored oils, and the pork wraps.
The calamari came first and it was the most tender calamari we have ever ate.
The rest of the dishes were a bit unsettling m underwhelming. They were good dishes and well prepared but somewhat lack luster in the taste.
The polenta was nicely fried but not much in flavor. The sauce on the plate was a bit skimpy in proportion with the amount of polenta.
The mushrooms and the bits of roasted garlic were great but lots of oil that makes it very heavy.
The pork was dry.
But overall was good enough to get 4 ☆☆☆☆.
