South Restaurant + Coffeehouse

Went for a drip coffee with my SO. I'm not the best tipper, but when the lowest option offered is 18% for someone to hand me a cup so that i can pour my own coffee, creamer and sweetener, then buss my own table, I might get a little offended.

1st time visiting. We arrived a little after 5 and got seated right away. Before we left though it was getting packed. Ordered drinks (spicy bloody mary & bartender's old fashioned) both were very good! Tried to order fried artichoke but they were out. Ended up ordering chorizo empanada, again very good! For dinner I ordered the butter burger, with French onion soup instead of fries. My husband ordered the garden salad with a chicken skewer & the Fr.Onion soup. Both dinners were good portions & very delicious. To finish off we tried the Berry Pavlova, it was just a little sweet with a nice crisp/chewy texture. Highly recommend! Overall, nice service, atmosphere, and although pricey, definitely worth it!

High quality seafood. Great dining experience! Salmon (pictured) was great, fish & chips melted in your mouth!! We all agreed the tartar sauce was the most unique and best tasting in all of Anchorage.

Breakfast + Brunch + Lunch + Dinner ... all day long with lots of options. South (conveniently named) is a locals favorite in South Anchorage. It's a favorite of mine, for sure!

Mornings - Their coffeehouse is the perfect place to eat good food, drink quality coffee, and be in great company! The environment of what one would expect of a modern cafe.

Lunch and Dinner is perfect combination of great service, fun and delicious menu options, and craft cocktails.

I go there for business meetings. I also go there to dine with my friends and family.

They are always busy! (That's the best sign!!!!)

Yes for South!

The food was great, especially the French toast! Fluffy and delicious. Would go back again:)

I stopped in for Veterans Day breakfast. I asked for my veteran discount and th girl said she had to go find a manager to approve the discount. After waiting 5 minutes she came back and said she couldn’t find a manager. So I said to just charge me full price.
Kind of sad

this was one of the highlights of restaurants in Alaska. it was good, most food in Alaska is terrible so this stood out as one of the best places...it was good not great.

This was our first experience and it exceeded our expectations ;) we will definitely be back

There was a 30 minute wait, but that’s just due to how packs they were! This is my first time in Alsaka, and their service was amazing, made me feel right at home, wonderful atmosphere, amazing food and drink!! Their French toast I’m sure was made with brioche and it was to die for; It looked so good I forgot to take pictures beforehand!

Lovely restaurant with a nice vibe. The menu has a great selection of foods. There calamari, now that was amazing
