A bit of a wait for a seat at the tail end of brunch, but understandable around the holidays. Service was fast despite the packed house and everything was clean.

Food was good, but not great. The chicken mulligatawny soup was flavorful but the chicken felt dry. I also got the veggie hash which was full of onions (yum) but I would have liked to have more than one piece of toast for the dish. My friend's French toast was tasty too. Nothing really blew me out of the water however. Worth a visit if you're looking for brunch, their cocktail menu looked great!

Came here on recommendation and very pleased that we did so. Great drinks, fun and friendly service, and phenomenal food. Things come out fast and loaded, so come hungry.

Peanut butter pie is no question the best dessert. Fish and chips and salmon seafood risotto were great and the hash and French dip were amazing. Def will be back!

The location is a little hidden and on the far Southside of town- hence the name..🤣 Yet it is TOP 3 of my favorite restaurants of all time.. not just in Alaska. The staff was very pleasant and drinks/food was prompt. NO liquor till 10am for all you day drinkers.(me included🙄) When we got our food I was in AWE!! The presentation was on point. TASTE WAS A 10 out of 10. I will be coming back over and over.

I really liked the layout of this building with the attached coffee shop, lounge seating and restaurant. Would like to try the chef's seating area in the future. Our server was easy-going and made great suggestions. We appreciated the fresh vegetables and properly cooked local red salmon. No judgement when we decided on two desserts! Thanks, Devin!

Worth the wait. Pictured are the boomtown pasta and roasted beet salad. People recommend adding the fried chicken for an extra $3. Of note, the roasted beet salad doesn't taste too strongly of fennel. If you're looking for something both citrusy and savory, give it a try. The goat cheese adds a nice finish to it.

They're able to host larger groups, so long as you're willing to wait.

For starters, this place has really good coffee with the quality and variety of a coffee shop. We came for breakfast one morning and several items on the menu jumped out. Our server was excellent and quite helpful. Across the board, we had large and satisfying portions. The combined hash had hearty, fresh veggies, good subtle flavors, and everything came together well on the plate. South wasn't on my radar, but it should definitely be on yours. It's a lovable spacious place I'd happily return to.

I thought about doing 4 stars simply because the wait was so long… but that’s how you know a place is GOOD. And it WAS. My wife got the cauliflower steak on zucchini noodles (delicious)… I had the French dip (amazing and so flavorful), and we had the bacon Mac n cheese on the side (so so good). Overall a 5/5 meal, so come for brunch AND dinner. That is all.

I have eaten here 3 or 4 times now, and always order something different. I have never had a dish that didn't surprise me beyond my expectations. Most recently, I took a chance with a wild mushroom polenta dish, only knowing polenta as some weird gelatinous log of oddly textured mush, apparently made of corn. The dish I received (pictured) was out of left field: creamy, light and fluffy. A combination of flavors and textures akin to well made, flavorful, mashed potatoes and something else I could not even begin to describe.

The dish was excellent, and even reheated well the next day. The calamari was tender and delicious, and their desserts are always without equal.

Great environment and good staff. Parking is shared but plenty. Good coffee house with good coffee.

But, the service is very very slow and come with pre long long waiting to get a table. At some point of time we thought all that was not worth of that much wait.

Might visit coffee house but not the restaurant.

Ordered takeout assuming that it would be a zoo on Sunday and it was. Got the huevos, egg bites, and a house drip! All very delicious to start off the day. Egg bites could have been heated up but we’re still very good and better than starbucks. Didn’t have the bacon ones so went with veggie. Cool ambiance very laid back and the staff at front were pleasant! Will be back as it is right next to Lowe’s!
