This place used to be a favorite until recently. I’m not sure if it’s because of Covid but they changed the champagne used for the brunch mimosas (at least the day I went). Thankfully the food was still pretty decent but the champagne tasted like vomit. Also, the bartender kept taking off her mask which I tried to ignore. But the manager and a bunch of other men came out after all of the guests were gone (it was just me and my companion left in the restaurant) and they sat around us at the bar and started talking without masks on! Mind you these are the employees who are required to help keep us safe while we are risking our health to patronize their business! I was totally offended. I have always liked this restaurant so I’ll give it 3 stars but I hope they are more respectful if I decide to go back. I’m surprised no one else is complaining about the champagne lol.

Great food and the manager was fantastic! Checked on us multiple times and was so kind to quickly grab some toast and fruit for our pregnant friend who was feeling a little shaky. Will definitely be back!!

We ate there last night on February 14.
I ordered the special fish meal and the fish was not cooked completely.
Another issue is it was a cold night and every time the door opened you felt the cold breeze while you were eating.
The one good thing about the restaurant was the drinks at the bartender made.

The staff is always generous and friendly. I've had every item on the menu and it has always been delicious. The restaurant is clean, the atmosphere is relaxed yet refined. A great place for a date or a night out with friends. I even go there by myself from time to time, just to have a good conversation with the bartenders. I recommend FIVE to everyone I know. If you're in Birmingham, you have to have some FIVE!

Went for Sunday brunch. The place is eclectic and funky. Server, Jessie, was very attentive and knew the menu and apps/entrees/drinks very well. We had the beignets as an app, not NOLA style, but really good. I had the breakfast burrito and loved it, and my wife had the quiche and also loved it. Very pleasant experience, great service, top shelf food. This is my new brunch place for sure. Try it.

Oh man this is one of the best places in the city for Sunday brunch. The chicken and waffles is amazing. There are only ever five items on the menu (hence the name) but they've perfected each of those items. Sunday morning there is live music and happy hour mimosas (after 12 of course). I love the atmosphere.

So disappointed that there isn’t a single vegetarian option on the whole menu. I emailed days ago to ask if a vegetarian in our group could be accommodated at all and never received a reply, but we kept our reservation thinking that surely they could do a salad or something to accommodate. When we saw that the menu included meat or fish in every single appetizer and entree, we asked about a possible vegetarian option. Our server said that there “used to be a veggie burger before but not anymore” but offered to see if there were any leftover in the freezer. Um. No thanks. We won’t be back and we’ll be sure to tell anyone who doesn’t want meat in every dish to go pretty much anywhere else in town where they will happily make a salad at least.
