The line can get long in the morning (even on weekdays!) and the coffee is pricier than other Ballard options but I love their cold brew and the staff is always so friendly!

Terrible coffee and the one barista I loved I found out got fired without warning or explanation. To me, this reeks of bad management and an unhappy work environment. I will never return to this place.

Great coffee shop. I love the Mole & Vienna their specialties. The pastries & evens are great. New owners and new look in progress but keeping a bit of the old decor. Highly recommend!

So good! I forget the name of the bagel sandwich I got but it was a bit spicy and had Mama's lil peppers - do yourself a favor and get it! Latte was good. Almond croissant was great. Cute place.

Java Bean has long been a favorite spot for my family. It was a daily haunt for us when we lived across the street after moving to Ballard 8 years ago and we still go regularly after moving a few miles away. The coffee is exceptional even in Seattle where their are a lot of shops serving excellent coffee. The signature drinks are delicious, the servers are kind and move at a good clip, the atmosphere is cozy, and the eggel sandwichs are tasty.

Fantastic homemade syrups for lattes. The seasonal flavors are always good too. By far my favorite lavendar latte in the summer.

This place is really great. They use mostly fresh ingredients. Super friendly staff!

I just had the best experience with friendly service, comfortable atmosphere and DELICIOUS food and iced beverage. A perfectly balanced iced vanilla latte with almond milk (recommendation was a “split shot”, who knew?!). On the menu, I spotted “Avocado Toast” and ordered. Minutes later, a mound of fresh avocado, arugula, tomato and feta arrived. A drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkling of black sesame seeds topped it off.
Between the friendly faces and the food/drink selection, I’ll be back soon!!

Thank you
Carrie C.

Good coffee shop with funky cabin-like decor. Cold brew is hit or miss, but espresso drinks are usually solid. Friendly baristas & great bagel breakfast sandwiches! Although, be wary, they charge for using an alternative milk as a creamer in cold brew or an americano (for example), which I've never experienced at other shops & I've worked in a few coffee shops myself. The typical standard is to not charge if it's used as a creamer. They do have soy on the bar, which is awesome, but be sure to say you want "room for cream" because I've said "room for soy" before & they put it in themselves, but charged me for it.

Great place just a little of Market St. Very cool environment with comfy seating. Small outdoor seating options if the weather allows.

So far the service has been great.

Coffee has been okay. Need more visits to give true evaluation of the drinks.

Dog friendly!!!
