Extremely friendly and welcoming to me even tho I didn't have any money to buy anything, they still invited me to sit inside anywhere and get warm on a freezing Tues morning and gave me coffee on the house. Now that is what I call great customer service and wish every where was the same way. Thank you PBC for making me feel like a human being, a deserving person and very special.

Usually when a restaurant messes up my order I'm fine with it because food is food and its all going to the same place.

Today though, I am very disappointed in the quality of the food. I ordered a breakfast hash from DoorDash thinking all will be well (mind you I've ordered from here before). When my food arrived I opened up the container to see big chunks of potatoes NO EGG AND SAUSAGE. The side of toast was missing, they threw it in the container sloppy, no seasoning and did I forget to mention HUGE CHUNKS OF POTATOES! I usually give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt but today the quality of the food was poor! I guess I'll stick to Denny's or IHop....

My friends and I have been frequenting Poverty Bay for years now. The staff has always been friendly, and the coffee and food have always been reasonably priced and delicious. It does get packed on Sunday mornings, but that's because there's no better locally owned coffee shop in Federal Way to hang out with those you love.

Once each year in August I leave my home in Connecticut and visit my daughter and her family in Federal Way, WA. We stay at a Clarion Hotel near her home. Two years ago I discovered Poverty Bay for breakfast. On this year's visit we repeated our visits to Poverty Bay. Besides the best selection of coffees, which changes daily, they prepare the most delicious breakfasts. The staff are friendly and helpful in selecting a coffee. The ambiance is truly that of a cafe. If you are ever in the area, try it and you won't regret it.

Quick, reasonably priced, and friendly. Also, I don't like 1000 isle sauce (too sweet) but theirs is perfect. Not too sweet at all. Can't wait to try their breakfast next time.

This is my favorite place to eat! I have a wheat allergy and was so excited when I first came here and found out they serve GF bread! The club sandwich is my favorite to have; I've been coming here nearly once a week for over a year and I've never been dissapointed with their food and coffee!

This was probably the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant/cafe. We didn't know you had to grab your own menus or self seatingbtill we had to ask a worker. The guy that took our order at the register was rude and didn't seem happy. We brought our friends from out of state because of the great reviews. It was pretty packed for a Tuesday but there was no excuse to wait over 2 hours for egg sandwices or biscuits and gravy. When we recieved our food my eggs Neptune was overcooked.. The salmon was like jerky and the egg yolk was all the way cooked and practically no hollandaise sauce. My significant other's bacon egg sandwich was cold and the bacon looked burnt. Not only that we had a couple that ordered right before us, got their food, ate, and left before we recieved our food which was about 30 minutes after. The customer service was horrible. The only nice worker there was the buser girl and she kept on apologizing. We spent more than $60, waiting over 2 hours for food that was cold and overcooked. Not worth the money or wait.

I'm a coffee snob, and this place far exceeded my expectations, enough for me to pull over and write this review. I also had a blueberry scone and my kid had some sort of maple? muffin. Both were fantastic! I'll definitely be coming back - often!

Great food, genuinely nice folks, and comfortable atmosphere. We love to walk here for breakfast and chill. They need to add some grain bowls to their menu, otherwise they're perfect!

Good tasting waffles, needs more fruit on them. long wait (>30min) on Sunday for food. Didn't like ordering in line, then waiting/ finding a seat. Coffee is better than Starbucks, but not better than petes. Place needs a little work, but has potential.
