Horrible management and wait time. Never even got to taste the food after 45 minutes of waiting for my plate to come out (mind you, it was a simple turkey sandwich...). The manager must not have any clue what customer service is since she lacked any trace of it. Everyone waits a minimum of 40+ minutes for simple dishes which the staff thought was "normal." Must not be familiar with how a good business gets ran.

Love this place. Haven't ordered a menu item that I haven't liked yet. It is a small family operated business. Always pleasant. Food comes out a little slow, but that's because food is cooked and prepared when you order, and they are usually fairly busy. Popular wit the locals. :-)

It was different. Great atmosphere. You order and pay at the counter, they bring your food. You have to get your own refills of coffee. I had two eggs over easy with hashbrowns and a 4 oz. steak. The steak was cooked (medium) to perfection. The eggs were just as I like them, no crusty around the edges. Hashbrowns were a bit too soft, almost like mashed potatoes, but good. I got the dark roast coffee which was excellent. The only thing I didn't like was the toast. Will I go back? Yes! I want to try their Eggs Benedict next.

We went there for breakfast. Our toddlers enjoyed the pancakes. I asked for latte art and just got a latte with blobs. The English muffin I had the toast my husband had were not toasted with enough butter. My husband asked for an iced coffee and they didn't have it, so he had to get an iced latte. The food wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. We would eat there again if someone invited us, but we wouldn't plan to eat there again.

The food alone deserves 5 stars. But the dining service left a lot to be desired. I sat in the dining area for almost 30 minutes waiting for the rest of my party, with not a single staff person acknowledging me. No one offered a menu, or asked if I needed anything or had questions.

The food, however, is the best breakfast in the Federal Way and Tacoma area. Their Eggs Benedict was absolutely flawless. Eggs were perfectly poached, the hollandaise sauce was well balanced and flavored. Everyone should eat here as regularly as possible.

Saw great reviews and decided to check it out with my wife. We both enjoyed our omelets and everything else that came with it. I would give it all five stars if the coffee was a bit better. Neither of us liked our lattes but over all, we loved it at Poverty Bay Cafe and we will come back again.

Great staff! I actually order online for a large 5lb bag of coffee as they do not sell it in that large size in the store. The coffee is always fresh and delivery is as fast as usps can deliver it to my house. Their coffee is bold and rich with great flavor and I highly recommend it to anyone that loves coffee!

Lively customer care prompt greeting when I walked in I immediately felt warm & welcome. When I said it was my first time in, he was glad to tell me more and seemed very happy and satisfied in what he was doing. However maybe it was bad flavor choosing on my behalf I grabbed an Italian soda and something just wasn't there. There's always next time though.. So what if pineapple peach raspberry wasn't it for me today!

Coffee is amazing especially their cold brew. It's the best cold brew I've ever had. Wish I new their process so I could come close at home haha. Sandwiches are very good as well and prices are reasonable. Definitely recommend stopping in.

Friendly staff. Great food. They have the best coffee!! I had their breakfast hash (huge plate) my daughter loved her pancakes and hot chocolate. Way better than Ihop or Black Bear. Come here instead!!
