The breakfast burrito is delicious and no skimping on the filling. I also liked the traditional burger for lunch-cooked well and the brioche bun was perfect for holding it altogether. It’s a solid menu for breakfast and lunch. A big bonus is friendly staff that care.

Two stars because the employees were very respectful and courteous.
The cappacino I ordered was horrible, burned and way too much extra syrups and stuff added to it.
I ordered the simple egg breakfast.
Less the two eggs and they were very overcooked. The bread was HARDLY toasted and not buttered not was I offered anything for the toast, breakfast potatoes horrible... No seasoning undercook and cold.
The bacon I added was 3$ for 3 pieces and was limp almost raw I left 2 3/4 pieces on the plate and over half of everything else. Was offered to remake the coffee I refused as I had zero faith in them and they did not offer to make up for the breakfast.
USED to be a wonderful place to eat. New management or owner is running this into the ground and I will not be returning.
Wasted 40$ for a breakfast
Thanks pov bay

You are in the right place if you are looking for a local eatery with lay back atmosphere. poverty bay hash breakfast was fresh and generously portion. The poverty jack sandwich was excellent.

A local, friendly cafe. The omelette I ordered was good for probably for two people. Fluffy omelette was filled with nicely sautéed peppers, tomatoes, and bacon! They even topped it with freshest fruit! Coffee was delicious. Sourdough was perfect! The only drawback was finding a parking space, but it wasn’t that bad. Apparently, people love this place.

Came in with my boyfriend for the first time since we always pass this place on our way home. We came in unknowingly 10 mins before close yesterday and oh my god, the staff was so nice! Since it was our first time she told us about the specials, all the millions of drinks they make, and gave amazing recommendations! We got a buttercream and snickers coffee and it was definitely made with love. We tried two different pastry cookies, and as we were waiting on the coffee it was just so much fun talking to the barista who had been working there for 5 years. Her personality shines, her coffee was amazing, and overall we left saying what a nice place with great service (despite us coming in right before close). Forgot your name but thank you!

Waited 50 minutes for food. It finally came out and the hollandaise sauce for the eggs Benedict was broken and completely inedible. The French toast was also cold. While waiting for the food, I also witnessed a man in the kitchen drop a knife on the floor and pick it back up and put it on the cutting board, not telling anyone it dropped on the floor, so it was used again before being washed. I also watched a cool put a made breakfast sandwich on the cutting board next to/touching a dirty dish rag. Pretty sure non of that is sanitary. Would not recommend.

Lots of food, tea (highly recommended!), and coffee options to choose from. Food is good, average price for sit down restaurants, and servers are very helpful and friendly. A great lunch/brunch or snack place, for relaxing or chatting casually with a friend.
Tiny issues with the layout. It is very casual and the tables feel crowded when the place is full. Sugar, creamer, water and a few other things are self-serve from a nook on the wall. It was a bit of a pain for my friend and I, since we bought pots of tea and every time we drain our cups, we had to get up for more sugar and what not. It killed the flow of conversation a few times.

I’m really disappointed, I’ve been to this cafe a couple of times right before covid hit and loved it, I got really sad to see that it was still closed when restaurants were starting to open back up, but understood since they were a small business. I’ve waited two years and this morning I finally decided to check again and saw that they were open! I got all ready and left the house at 12pm to get there because they were supposed to close at 2pm. I see that they have an “open” painted on their windows, but when we pull up in the parking lot, the open light sign is off and there’s a “temporarily closed” sign on their door. I double check google maps knowing that I couldn’t have misread their schedule. but no, I’m there at 1:15pm and their schedule says “closing soon at 2pm” on google maps. I’m disappointed, I hope to see you guys open again, but really need to fix your schedule.

Food was great had to wait over 40 minutes after we sat down (Only reason for the 3 stars). Highly recommend, be cautious on a Sunday morning to avoid wait times. Staff is amazing, as well.
