Love the fresh roasted coffee! Location is perfect and the space has lots of light with an expansive feel. Peaceful area of town with free parking right outside the door. Crew is likeable and welcoming.

This location has the best coffee in Staunton . The only thing that would make it better would be more food choices.

Thank god Staunton finally has a good coffee shop! I visit a few times a year and until recently the only option was dark-roast sludge. I stumbled on Crucible totally by accident today and now it will be my go-to whenever I’m here in town.
The guys who run it are friendly and knowledgeable, they have top-notch brewing equipment, and a very charming little space that’s very open and welcoming.
I had a natural processed Ethiopian when I was there and I look forward to trying out their other options.
If you’re in Staunton and you’re looking to develop your palate and try out some good coffee instead of the bitter diner-quality stuff they serve everywhere else in town, you HAVE to check out Crucible.

This is a fantastic little hole in the wall coffee. The really cool thing is they roast their own coffee here. Several ways to get the coffee including pour-over and espresso. It's off the beaten path, but isn't that what you want anyway? The staff is very nice and helpful. Definitely give it a shot the next time you're in Staunton.

Well balanced drinks every single time!

Hands down one of the best coffee places I've been to and definitely the best one in Staunton. I'll definitely be back every time I'm in town to visit!

Coffee and pastry is always delicious, the employees are always a joy to be around. Have nothing but good to say about the food , drink, and employees.

When I first saw all the 5 star reviews, I figured it couldn't be real. I thought they'd handed out free scones to get people to go and give them 5 stars, or paid their little cousin Kyle to setup a bunch of troll accounts to rate this place at 5 stars.
Having now had the coffee, I can say with begrudging annoyance that the coffee is that good. The Iron Horse was the best coffee I've had in the past five years at least and I didn't have to put any drugs in it.
I went so far as to write a breakup letter to my former coffee shop of choice after having but one cup from Crucible.
If i could give it more stars, I would.

Great coffee, great service (thank you Brandon), in the coolest little, mountain town. Love the preserved, historical vibe with a touch of modern and up to date culture. Every great town needs an equally as great coffee shop!

A wonderful coffee shop with excellent service, indoor and outdoor seating all located in in a very hip area. The surrounding buildings were part of the Public Works Department for the City of Staunton in the past.
